Ok guys so check it. Been veggin for almost five weeks and ive learned that my 3 t5 4 bulbers just aint gonna quite cut unless i do this and that... So the first peice of advise i took was LST. Well taken advise from a "well known" member.. Cool. So i L.S.T.'ED em(because of major stretching) and bought some punk bulbs that add up to about 135w(more than half of my t5 wattage)I also purchased a 70w hps bulb. Pics show my set up. Thinking about some vertical.. got about 18 plants!!

Its crazy because i havent told a soul about my new hobby yet here i am on RollItUp:peace::hug::peace:

nice where are the bulbs gna be hanging? you have alot of space. why dont youjust run a HID? and if youre topping your plants you could jus knock it down a few nodes and delete the stretch. idk man lol im sorryi just dont like the stretch they have
Yep. Newbie. But i was thinking of draping the big cfls in between each unit and wait till i get myself a ballast for my bulb and drape that fucker too. As far as the HID goes.. i know nothing. Well just cfl and fluorescent knowledge.. not even.. should've huh?:wall:

Anyone could tell that they are stretching, you have the light too far away to begin? floresents and cfls should never be more than 3 inches away from the canopy , I can see you fix that. I think your overloading on the plants there. You should have about 100w of light per plant, or,about 5000 lumens per square foot. Personally I don't like floresents for growing with a light. I think cfls are a cheaper and easier to maneuver, plus you can make costom fixtures. Of course hid lighting is king or led if you can afford it. Are you planning on moving outside? If not I would cut down on the plantage you normally only get about .5 grams per watt with cfls and such in my exprience. Plus your node spacing should only be inch in veg. I think if you have less plants you'll better manage your plants and get an overall better product.

Yes i did have em too far away at first. Fixed that and they are responding good.. but idk man.. just gonna rock like this until i get a ballast.. this is a flick of those big boys though

Hid setups are pretty noob proof. just hang it and they love it.

Hid lights helped me cut through the crap and start growing without adding lumens and wats vs actual watts and 27k vs 25k and w.e else.

When you have no idea what you're doing (like me) get a big light!

Buy a hid man fck ur got a big room there under 2 600w hps u could be smashing out 2 to 3 pound a harvest
That room could be perfect for a vert grow

I think you're on the right track by getting some HID lighting, but you should really consider something much bigger than 70w. Even with fewer plants, 70w just isn't enough. Like DroBlowBoy said, 100w per plant seems to be the general consensus. The initial cost of getting some good lighting can be a bit expensive, but when you think long term, you'll be doing yourself a huge favor.

I ask because if they are sativas of course they are gonna be lanky as hell. Indicas; short as fuck. Hybrids, now that can be difficult to keep an even canopy for maximum light penetration for flower b

Yeah your gonna get a lot more stretching into flower with em. I'd say about 65%-75% more stretch until maturity under flower. Definitely get a cpl hids.
