havent ever needed any calmag with any other strain, even strains that are known to be heavy calmag eaters like blue dream.
im using maxigrow and maxibloom. they are 1 part powder nutrients by general hydro. in veg im running EC @ around 1.2 and in flower running EC at around 1.8. no foliar feeding. im using microbial tea to keep rootzone healthy. i dont think theres any root issues going on. that particular cherry pie in flower wasnt the best rooted of plants, so its possible it could be a root issue. but its so late in flower cant do anything about it now.
i dont think theres any root health issues though. the tea does a great job at keeping them healthy.
i mix my res at that ec level.. i also use Dutchmaster Gold Silica. i add the silica first, then plain water, then powder nutrients.. then water. then use AN ph up or down accordingly (maxigrow needs ph down, maxibloom needs ph up). i was mixing, and going 4 weeks before i dump res and remix.. just topping off with water and either maxibloom or maxigrow as needed to keep ec around ideal level. but im going to change to dumping res every 2 weeks instead of 4.
heres a pic of 2 cherry pie's in veg, and one cherry pie 2 weeks into flower. looking overall healthy (the one closest to the camera in the smaller veg pic is where i took the close up shot of the damaged veg leaf, its on the lower left of the plant.. but you can see the rest of the plant looks fine).
heres a lights off pic of the cherry pie late in flower, 2 weeks from harvest. its pretty much done but i let em go a little longer.
and heres 2 pics of the blue dream that are 2 weeks from harvest. it shares the res with the cherry pie thats 2 weeks from harvest.
as you can see overall health is good. its just something finicky is happening with the cherry pie intermittently. im wondering if its something i can fix, or if i should even bother trying to fix.
