Got any pics? It all depends on how big the plant is. You want the root mass to take up a good amount of space in the pot before you transplant so that when you take it out, it doesnt all fall apart and stress the plant out. Imo the best way to do it is to just start them in their original homes so you don't have to transplant at all.
Imo its a big misconception that you have to start in small pots and work your way up. I put my cuts straight into 10g for my indoors and they double in size every week.
The only time I transplant is when I have my full term outdoors in a greenhouse under supplemental lights until June 1st when they are ready to go outside in their final homes in 4x4 beds, 100g, or 200g pots.

Very true, clear pots are not good. You can wrap the pot with black duct tape a couple times though if it isn't ready to transplant.

That's fine for outdoor... Inside you're gonna have trouble watering and you're gonna waste the majority of that soil

I thint what woody is trying to say is to at least do some research and learn the basics at least before trying to grow. I'm on my first grow and I did a good 2 months of research and planning before even thinking about starting.

No problems watering, no wasted soil. Roots fill the whole pot and poke out of the smart pot on the bottom and grow trough the coco mat underneath. Like I said plants double every week and have no problem filling out their pots. Why would I have trouble watering and how am I wasting soil?

Pots or smart pots?.... Hard pots those roots go to the side and bottom
Some weight in there for sure but its kinda sloppy.... I wouldn't wanna trim it

Smart pots and what is sloppy about it? Also how is it a waste of soil and why would I have trouble watering? 2+ per light, trimmers didn't complain about anything that run.

Thats a 6 light and it pulled 12.3. Ive had better runs but 12.3 is fine with me. You can't see the whole room in the picture. There is buds from wall to wall, full canopy. Don't care if you don't believe me. Since you think you know what a 2# + per light room looks like, lets see some pictures of your rooms. Flower room not producing, thats a joke right? Please share a picture of one of your rooms that is fuller than that.
I had 2 twister T2s and they are garbage. Used them mainly for deps and outdoor but sold them last year. When you wet trim the product doesnt smell as good as hand trimmed. Also it doesnt do nearly as good as a job as hand trimmed and you have to have someone at the end of the machine doing quality control and touching it up any way. Yes it does it faster, but the machines cost 11k a piece and you are sacrificing smell and quality. We did a side by side and made the decision to get rid of them.
Paying a team of trimmers is pennies to the dollar to do a great job. Try selling machine trimmed to a dispensary as top shelf. Good trimmers can do a minimum of 2# per day, get a team and they can run through anything quick.
Back to my original question that I've asked 3 times, how is it wasting soil and a problem to water?

U sure get butthurt fast.....
Drop a clone in a regular ten gallon pot you get roots on the bottom and the sides empty soil in the middle..... I would imagine that's why you use smart pots
But you didn't say smart pots and its too late for u to be wrong
