12/12 question

i have two plants in two different tents starting early flower,, is it possible without much harm to switching one of the plants 12/12 cycle to the oppisite 12/12 where its dark while the other tent is on to keep heat down,, what happens here?

you can put them both in the same tent, the switch wont do them any harm.

i mean the plants 12 hour light cycle will be flipped to it being its dark cycle is what i meant

Just leave the plant that needs to make the change in the dark longer.

So if plant B's schedule needs to completely flip then leave that plant in dark for 24hrs and continue as normal.

Plants that go from veg lighting to 12/12 to flower will still be in veg mode for up to a week at 12/12. With my indica strains I can usually take clones from a female that has been at 12/12 for less than 7 days. Those clones are rooting at 8-11 days just as if the mom was still at 18/6 or 20/4. That tells me they are still in veg mode for at least a week after going to 12/12.

This info is important especially if you are just setting up your grow. Now you can confidently take clones while letting the mom get a jump on flowering. Working backwards tells us we can cut a week off wait time and still take viable clones.

PS -- If you can't put both plants in one tent consider eliminating the tent. You are smart to look ahead and anticipate heat issues this summer and it stands to reason that the fewer hours the light runs the less heat you will generate. So figure out a way to get both plants on the same schedule.

Senile is right. 24 hours of light does WAY more harm than 24 hours of dark during flowering.

thanks i actually have 2 plants in seperate4x4 tents, they seem to do better since they fill the tent, i just had both tents on the same light/dark cycle 12/12, and was wanting to switch one to be on the dark cycle when the other was on the light cycle..
