Looking for some modern input on strains for indoor that reliably show color and are nice potent, flavorful smoke.
Anyone have any recommendations?

No idea from any I have grown but I just recieved a couple of LSD-25 auto seeds ordered on the basis the bud turns a lovely shade of purple, amongst other things.

I grew a master kush for a couple years. Even after hitting low 100°s for half its flowering it still showed purple.
One of my favorite strains as far as smoke flavor and odor

I started a similar thread a few months back and the two names that kept coming up were Killing Fields and Peyote Purple. I ended up buying both because I couldn't decide but I'm waiting for winter to come back around so I can really get that deep purple color.

From what I learned about KF, it's very sativa dominant with about 70 percent turning purple and it also requires some pheno hunting -- but in a good way -- because they're supposed to be all very good from seed. So overall, it's supposed to be a high quality sativa with some good bag appeal -- with a sativa-ish 10-12 week flowering period.

And with Peyote Purple, it's supposed to be a very stable an uniformly purple strain meaning, if you pop 10 seeds you should have 10 seeds that are purple and look pretty much the same. It's an indica dominant plant, but with an "uplifting" high. Bag appeal is supposed to be the big winner with this strain and you'll see why from the pictures below. They were grown by @st0wandgrow, hopefully he doesn't mind me re-posting them but they were so STUPID frosty that I had to save em.

Are the fems as reliable at showing purple as the regs?
Yup, they are.

It's a good strain.

Peyote Purple from Cannabiogen will always turn purple on you as well and it's nice smoke. Not going to yield or be that vigorous though. Also not as nice smoke as it appears to be visually.

I ran cannaventure's purpleberry bx and it was the darkest purple buds I've ever grown or seen personally. One pheno was almost black. I was going to use it for breeding but the male never produced any pollen. It had sacks, just no pollen. I decided I didn't want to cross the females because they were horrible genetics. No smell, burnt wood flavor and no high.

I've found that the only purple bud that got me really f'ing stoned was my mutant crinkle leaf pheno of dutch passions blueberry back in 2002. She had the fruity pebbles taste, super coated and turned a light purple with a few red and blue(well close to blueish purple) calyxes, we called it blue's clues. I tried a couple packs since then but they, like many others whom bred the blueberry, have mostly bred the twisted leaf mutation out of the strain so no more blue's clues pheno to be found. I would like to go back and whoop my younger self's ass for not holding that blue's clue pheno throughout the years.

It's funny you mention that the male produced no pollen. I found a beautiful male in their cookie crosses that also didnt produce any pollen. I'm wondering if there is a way that breeders can make any males sterile...hmm

How did you like the white.label purple bud I have it growing now. 3 are very Sativa dominance and has generically messed up leaves. A few has smaller skinner beds but once is throwing some fatty buds leaves are Def purplish have 2 weeks roughly till chop

This s such a difficult question to answer, as in most cases all bud 'should' be about the same color, all grown correctly
weed to green can imply an excess of (N) at harvest or dried to quickly
too yellow a bud can imply severe nute burning at harvest, badly cured, and like them Colombians be just dried out in a field, several causes here.
Red may imply poor temp control in late bud, which would mean trics have yet to correctly mature..?
....see this as 'bag appeal which is low on the desires of weed!
