@ orange,
ive been keeping up with your grow, sorry to hear you only have two this year!!!!
thats some dank, the nugget there, looks delicious, you must have some super dealers around where you live...

the yellowing of the fan leaves is normal, just let them die or pick them off they will die if they turn yellow, ive noticed my plants lower tiers growing in yellow, so i just pick them off, i thought of it as "super cropping" or, taking off anything not essential to the plant so it can focus on the main areas. i went to my site about three days ago, chopped down somthing growing balls and noticed that the other 4 plants i have are all growing hairs! i am in a different zone than you and ive noticed it has taken about two weeks or so longer to show their sex. i had my crop attacked by deer and ate up to the stalks, they still survive! its alot of hard work for such an amazing payload, but i hope your grow continues to go as smooth as it has been. dont worry about the yellow fan leaves they will die off, just pick them off and throw them away. i am curious tho, how do you make hash from a male plant???

:quick edit: did you grow that smoke last year??? or are you growing that strain again this year?

hey valron,
the dealers in my area somehow pick up their bud from the growers for clubs. thats great news that you have 4 females! i was pretty disappointed to have to kill 3 males...one of my biggest in there. as for the yellowing, i had seen this about 2 weeks ago and didnt understand why it was continuing after fertilizing with fish emulsion. as for the hash out of males, i doubt it will be very potent. it kind of is a practice run for the trim of the harvest this year.
also, this is my first year growing so i have never had a harvest before. i am growing early misty, but the bud i showed is some random headies i picked up saturday

hey guys, i have been doing some reading on what to do about curling leaves. my one early misty plant has normal leaves, yet when i look at them, they are curved. not curled up, but kind of like hooked to the side.
Calcium – Ca is an important Micro nutrient that marijuana plants require. A Calcium deficient plant (rare) is often shown by twisted or curled leaves and brown spots that can spread rapidly. Too much Ca can be lethal to your plant though. Potassium (K) and Magnesium (Mg) can be “locked out” if the Calcium levels are too high. Watch your tap water…”hard water” (tap water in most North American cities) is generally Calcium rich. If your faucet heads have mineral build up on them, your water is not recommended for marijuana growing…too many unknown minerals (usually a lot of Calcium) in the water.
do you know how i can add some calcium to my girls?

hey so i visited the patch today. the sativa girl is looking great, lots of new growth and bud sites. i can tell she is going to stretch because of her genetics. the early misty is budding out nicely, tons of sites all over the plant. i looked, and i saw some pink hairs coming from the top, pretty cool!!
anyways, sorry no pics, ill bring my camera next tuesday. thanks for checkin in

id say crushed egg shells mixed in with the dirt should take care of calcium with out halfing to add shit or bones ground up really fine for enzyms to break it small enough for plant food

How long will it take for the shells to break down so that it can be absorbed into the Plant?

i mean u could probably speed it up by grinding the eggs shells to a powder and it may be like a week or so .. but who knows .. what if u watered with a lil milk in there?

Nice grow. Good luck with the water hauling. Id be sweating by balls off. does it every rain there in CA? Here in canada I havent had to water yet, rain every 2nd to 3rd day.
" it never rains in california..the girls always warn ya'... " now there's an earworm from the '70s! it rains all winter, and that's it...period. on the other hand, we get 362 days of sun(the other 3 days are sunny for at least a couple hours), and zero mold prob's.i've even taken to misting them every morning, 'cause I live just above the marine (fog)layer.
