So, anyone other than me watching the Olympics?

I don't know about you, but I'm routing for the USA, on account thats where I live (surprise surprise). But really I don't care who wins, I just enjoy the sport of it all. How about the rest of you?

I'm glued to my TV. Damn yard needs to be mowed but I just don't want to leave my TV. Thank god for Picture in Picture so I can keep up with the events on different channels I want to see.

My favorites are: Beach Volleyball, indoor volleyball, swimming, diving, gymnastics & track & Field.

Some sports I'm not necessarily a regular fan of, but enjoy watching during the Olympics. I enjoyed watching our women fencing and sweeping the medals  .... they are going to compete in the team event later this week.... so I think we'll see the girls get another medal (hopefully Gold).

I really enjoyed watching Womens team Archery this morning S.Korea vs. China. I was rooting for China since it's their turf and USA wasn't in it. Korea took the Gold, China the Silver.

I have a box of tissue on the table because I always cry a lot during the Olympics. May sound silly... but I can't help it when I see the joys and sorrows on the athletes faces. Last night when I watched Michael Phelps win his first Gold I cried like a baby. GO MICHAEL!!!!

I was bummed at the woman's 4x100 free relay. I was hoping we would take Gold.... Dara Torres did an EXCELLENT job at anchoring that race winning the team a Silver. I can't wait to watch her swim the 50m Free..... I'll be very surprised if she doesn't take Gold or Silver.

Swimming and volleyball are the sports I played competitively so these are especially near and dear to my heart.

i was on a low dose of LSD during the TV broadcast, i was trying to imagine what it be like to be in that audience.

i figured there probably isn't any LSD in china, probably some pot, but the drug supply is very limited...

I'm sure I'll get fried for this, but one game I have no interest in watching is Basketball. I just don't like the fact that our team is all NBA players.

The NBA players are too "celebrity", which seems contrary to the spirit of the Olympics. I think I'd like it more if the US team was comprised of college players instead of the "celeb" NBA players.

i won't watch basketball either, mostly because i think it's boring and lack interest

a few other olympic basketball teams have NBA players, i like seeing the best in the world compete against each other. i don't care much about labelling them "professionals" or "celebrity" players.

yeah I know micheal phelps is to much of a "celeb"

LOL.... last time I checked swimming wasn't a billion + dollar industry where swimmers get million dollar contracts to swim.

Michael Phelps comes into the public spotlight during Olympic years and we also hear about him on the news after an International Swim Meet. Phelps is popular now because of the games.... but I'd hardly compare that to the Celeb Royalty status of Kobe Bryant or LeBron James. NBA players have celebrity status comparable to that of movie stars.

Athletes like swimmers hardly compare. The last swimmer that had the popularity that Phelps has was Mark Spitz.... and that was long ago. When the Olympics are over Phelps will get his "commercial endorsements" but that'll fade away soon..... but we'll still be bombarded with the celeb NBA players year round as they hob nob with the Hollywood crowd.

IDK.... maybe I'm just overly jaded about celebrities these days.

it's kinda funny in a way(not trying to be negative) but havn't the mens usa basketball team had their asses handed to them at most of the previous olympic games---even with all the pros's?

The last olympics the U.S got the Bronze but it was the first time the pro's didn't get the gold, Dream Team ring a bell?

sound a lil bitter
LOL.... well I did say:

IDK.... maybe I'm just overly jaded about celebrities these days.

I'm not bitter.... just sick to death of being bombarded with celeb information. It's on the news, in the paper, on magazine covers, on gazillions of web pages, the radio.... ACKKKKk!!! I mean fuck, Brangelina having babies was a god damned international event.

I just think the Olympics is a nice break from all that as the media's main focus is the games and not whether Britany Spears is wearing underwear or not.

Anyway.... no biggie.... I just don't watch the b-ball.
