Dry/cure my guerilla grow without the other people in my house finding out. What to do?

the quicker you dry it, the more it will taste like hay. I've dried under 5 days and still there was a loss of flavor, any less and you might ruin the taste. You could plan on quick dry and then kief it all up. Bridal veil fabric from a craft store and a bucket, and dry ice.

Ya I wouldn't put it in a dehydrator you'll lose all the flavor. You might as well dry it with a blow dryer. You can't hang them in the shed for a few days? It only takes 2-3 days for the initial dry then they go into a paper bag for a week then into a jar. Burp the jar every day for 10-15min then once a week for 10-15min then you're done and ready to smoke. You can smoke weed that's been cured in a day but it'll taste like ass.

To answer your question about a cheap setup - to be 100% stealth you'll need a proper tent or box which will cost about $100 and a 4" carbon filter kit for $150. You might find cheaper ones on kijiji or craigslist. Anything else and you're going to get busted. This girls stink beyond belief. 2 weeks into flower and my 2600 Sq ft house smells like a skunks ass. When I harvest the smell doubles. If you don't want to get caught find somewhere to stash it or spend $2-300 on a decent setup for drying.

It's a watercure (http://www.cannabis.info/us/abc/30004048-how-to-water-cure-cannabis) so the smoke will always become pretty flavorless but also very easy on the lungs. Very good for vaping (and I always vape). Once the watercure is done it doesn't matter that much how you dry them, or so I have read. Also if I want I can flavor it by putting orange or lemon peels in the water during cure. As for the smell, I think as long as the neighbor isn't out working.

As for the smell problem I'll think over it and come back later. The fact that the shed is around 50m from any building (besides that workplace my neighbor works at sometimes) should make it relatively safe right? At least it should mean that I will only have to lessen the smell rather than make it go away completely?

Im still saying hang it in the trees, then take your dry buds home.
I don't know... They will be sopping wet after all. I think the risk for mold would be high. If I go for the watercure that is, which is my main plan. For ordinary curing it could probably work though.

ok if your so dead set on a quick dry,use the dehydrator in a large tall box. You set your big buds in the dehydrator, and your smaller ones on a small chair or table right above the dehydrator, in this big box. You can poke a few holes at the bottom of the box. Next get a some carbon filter pads and a booster fan, or large computer fan. Tape the pads to the back of the fan, fold the box around the fan at the top and seal with tape....
and bam,
you have the ghetto dry chamber for under 50 bones

Ya he does, and I'm not saying it won't work, I'm just saying it won't work well enough. You and I don't have to answer to anyone should someone get a whiff of fresh skunky goodness, by the sounds of it he'll be kicked out. Even a good carbon filter has a sweet aroma that's different than the rest of the air in the house.

As for the shed 50m from anything...might be okay, I mean it all depends, you really don't know how dank these girls can get do you? Just to give you an idea, here in Toronto a guy had a legal grow op in his house with a few plants. His house happen to be across the street from an elementary school. Well guess what, parents started complaining to the point where the police had to intervene only to find he was legal. Nothing happen to the guy, point is, people driving by this house with their windows open were allegedly "afraid" of getting pulled over shortly after passing by this house for fear of being hassled for possessing marijuana. They broadcast this on the news and as the guy stood about 200 feet from the house he said the entire immediate area about a block or so stunk like a skunks ass. Not those words obviously lol. I know you're not growing a lot but even a small one can carry it's scent pretty far under the right conditions. Where ever you have it hidden, growing in the forest, you better believe you'll smell it long before you see it when shes full bloom.

Hanging it in the trees is a really really good idea IMO. You can go out at night to check on them. Someone might smell them but there not likely going to look up. They will get the chance to dry right. A++ idea marquezmurder.

thats why i said hang her in the woods, at least if its found your probably not there.
Since you all vouch for this idea maybe I will go for it then. Do a regular aircure instead of a watercure and hang the trimmed plants in the trees. How should I protect them from rain (besides checking the forecast ofc)?

If you make a little curing box out of cardboard with some string running through it to hang the buds on and some big holes in the sides to let air through then you can just put that up in the tree with a plastic bag over the top (obviously without blocking the holes in the sides for air) and you'd be fine for rain and stuff, might be a bit more obvious though.

As others have said before - you won't hide the smell easily with filters and Ona - maybe you could leave few days between cutting each plant - dry smaller quantities and stash it.

Ya the only way I can see you drying w/out smell is in the trees like the others say. The shed will reek to bad. Also very important, when you are trimming make sure you have a change of clothes for after unless you want to go home radiating the smell of freshly trimmed cannabis. My vote is definitely for the trees. I have a cabinet with stubby 12"x6" carbon filter with a 110cfm fan and I could still smell an auto I harvested 4 weeks early.

I thought I'd chime in but looks like a few people have given you some ideas about drying in small places. I thought about the water curing but the turbo dry is what sets me off. The oven at the lowest temp or a food dehydrator. You can have the weed you want but the taste that would be gone is something I have trouble getting used to. Making it into Qwiso may work too but the smell of the ISO would be strong, having a window with a fan directly on your Pyrex would work. But again we don't know what your plan is. I do like the box idea that someone posed as hanging them would work for a bit. Summer is on the way and I'd ask where you really live because you could leave your plants further out in the woods, just check on them from time to time.

The smell can reach pretty far, even outdoors, depending. It also can dissipate faster too, so there's that. You might be able to mitigate odor issues with power handy, but what are the chances of discovery otherwise? Who has access to the shed? Is the shed lockable? Would anyone nearby notice fan/air noise? I/we want you to be successful, so don't take these questions personally.

When you do harvest, it's better not to dry too fast if you can help it. It can take anywhere from 3 to 10 days or maybe more, depending on any number of things. Air movement is the key, you want to always be swapping out that moisture laden air. The harvest/cure thread is very good, that's where I turned to starting out.

Eta: Good advice above (i type too slow), don't overlook the dank sticking to you and everything around you/it. YOU won't notice but everyone else will smell it.

Hey lights, I myself have had the same problem last season and will have it again when i'll harvest this year. What I did when harvest, was trim in the forest and then ride back home. there, you take a hairdryer outside, take a box and make a hole in it, put the hairdryer in it and let it blow hot air on your buds for one hour and a half, more or less depending on the amount of weed you've got. This way the excessive humidity that could have caused your buds to mold is removed. Then you just put them in jars, dig a hole, and hide them underground, and get back there every two days to open them, check on your buds and let the excessive humidity out. It has worked well for me last year, only matter is that your buds will smell like cutted grass or smthing when you dry them with the hairdryer, but the good smeel will come back with the curing ;) During the first two weeks I putted rice on the bottom of the jars, it absorbs humidity!
Hope i helped you out, NW

Fucking ingenious! I like this suggestion a lot, especially if you say the cut grass smell goes away. I used a hair dryer last grow just to dry some tester buds. Smelt like cut grass but smoked beautifully and got me high as a kite!
