Second grow (auto) questions about autos 100% germination?

yeah final container is best but sometimes things dont line up as one would think haha..

and there are actually a fem ambers in that pic..i got a 100x scope for like 12 dollars. its a pocket microscope with and led on it and a uv light for detecting fake currency.

Judge the harvest time by triches , breeder estimates are always wrong. Their quick finishing times are for PERFECT growing conditions , not what can be fully duplicated at home or garden. I usually end up with finish times around week 10 or slightly longer. The plants lifespan will hit and end , no matter what. Some strains don't amber or fan leaves turn color. Autos can be great plants but undo stress ( overwatering , Overfeeding and transplanting ) can cut yield dramatically.

You CAN plant your seed in the final pot of your choice and let her grow.

That one up top is from a bag seed and I have no idea when the trichomes will turn amber. Yeah I expect it to take a little longer but I like the idea of constant lighting. And yeah I do worry a bit about overwatering since last time I had some stunted kinda hard from it. I guess I should plan to not give any nutes until they have the 3rd set of leaves and then maybe do it at 1/4 what do you think?

For autos I usually start feeding around week 3. 1/2 strength veg nutes... Week 4 veg nutes.. Week 5 Probably half veg and half bloom.. When they show buds I switch to bloom.. After week 4 you can probably hit it with 500-700 ppm (full nutes). Just depends on the plant.

Which line of nutes are you using?

Ok sounds good thanks, and the word cal mag gets tossed around do I need that if I run fox farms trio?

i would NOT base my feedings off whether its an auto or not. these things are irrelevant. base your feedings on how nutritious your soil is.

CalMag is a good idea if using bottled water or RO water or distilled. If you use Tap water you won't likely need it. Beware if you are using tap water you should know the TDS or PPM... My plants were all messed up even though I was feeding them and using calmag. Then I bought a TDS pen for $17 on amazon and found out my tap water is near 700 PPM out of the tap. This is really bad for the plant.
I switched to bottled water and everything cleared up...

Some Dolomite lime added to your soil mix would likely be very beneficial at combating calmag issues and it will stabilize PH.

A TDS pen is so worth it. It helps in so many ways. I feed my plants around 600 PPM.

ive thought about using bottled or something.. my tap is really not a problem but just like a fun little experiment. do you just buy cases? @sunny747

I see, I may have to see about one of those pens my last grow went fine using tap water and checking ph. The ph on my water is like 5.9 or something and I'm growing in coco so I don't think its too bad.

Wow.. that is low PH for tap... Mine is close to 8.0. Our water in Socal isn't very good though.. The nice thing about a pen is knowing for sure that you are delivering the correct amount of nutes. No margin of error.

That's great that you were able to grow in coco. I have been afraid to experiment. Lots of calmag issues with coco and LED, but it looks like you have it handled.

I hate doing it and carrying it into my house, but I buy gallons at Costco. I normally add in 1/4 tap water for some savings. When I just have one plant going it's not a big deal but when I have a few in flower it really sucks :)
I should buy an RO system, but a good one is expensive.

thanks by the way how do I keep from over watering my seedlings if they are in their final pot to start? I would think it would be hard to gauge how much water to add when the plant is so small and pot is so big.

well when its tiny, i use a sprayer..its better that way for a few reasons..i will categorize and list them for ya. lol

1. when you water (from anything really)..it can make water holes..which will totally uproot a seedling.

2. you can also heavily mist to provide a bit of humidity this way..

you know what i mean..water holes?

Good idea... Would give nice even coverage. I have toppled a few seedlings even when I was being careful.
