Flowering with Metal Halide

Seeing what some of you have to say about the subject/debate. Recently got a deal on some warehouse surplus lights and plan on using the shit out of them. Some say MH will produce more trichs others insist that your plants need the red spectrum.
I know what's common knowledge but I've read a few interesting articles and post on other forums. Anyone have any experience comparing the two?

I ran a cycle with only mh and had great results. I think a slightly diminished yield however exceptional color formations on buds and really excellent resin quality(better than hps in my opinion).

i'd add some red somehow to the mix: a HPS, a red LED, red T5's etc. a combo of red and blue will kill it.

I am running a plant now under its own 400 watt lamp. So far it looks fine but its only starting week 2. I have some of those little 150 watt hps lamps I may add one or two of those to the mix but I also just want to see what metal halide will do by itself. Idk yet. I will post a pic tomorrow.

i think that the hps would help you more now vs later in flowering. sun pulse bulbs makes a 10000K metal halide (think bright bright white) that they suggest to use at the last 2 weeks of flower to really boost the resin.

either way, it will flower nicely. you'll lose a little yield (400MH is less lumens than a 400 HPS) but better quality.

I agree. The work through pioneers in LED has shown, IMO, that Blues/mid range for early and flush time flower with the heavy lean-2700k in mid-flowrr really shows the true expression of a certain strain+you get a proper yield+ better, or more? resin content.

I really like the LEC attempt at this actually, the spectrums they hit seem nice at way less total energy used and an almost equal footprint

A dual arc worked pretty well for me, but my hortilux shps definetly gives me a noticeable gain just by looking at the bud development at week 6. Im attempting to throw together a new hortilux blue grow just to flower with full spectrum from beginning to end to compare.

Im gonna use my digilux 4000k mh throughout flower. I'am 2 weeks into flower and everything looks good so far.
