But I am also continually building new prototypes and things change all the time, but knowing and understanding the parameters goes a long way into the build...
My experience is that I started like you, definitely conscious of cost and wanting to spend the least amount but still getting the highest quality yields in return I could....Fast Forward 2 years later....I spent WAY more on cheap ass Ebay shit ironically, that was continually faulty or breaking down.....
Now I have settled onto Cree/Vero/ Meanwell train for all the lighting components for my builds....the more I use these types of diodes....The more I am simply impressed.....my cost curve has been heading down, even below what generic builds were costing, simply because, you get what you pay for.....
Better equipment imho, has led to better reliability and less cost.......Sometimes you gotta spend it to save it....and if you don't quite have all the quid......WAIT!
