Help?

Its my first time growing and i have 2 plants 15 days in.

My first question...
When they get big enough where i need to transplant them is it ok to mix soils? What i mean is i planted the germinated seeds in a seeding soil but a friend recommended Fox Farm's Ocean Forest soil for when i transplant. So i assume it would be fine but i'm just checking...?

Second question...
My grow space is 1'4" X 2'7" X 2'9".
Right now i have flouresent lights on 'em. Standard Home Depot lights. Two bulbs totalling 40W. Whst would you guys recommend for wattage because i feel i need to step the lighting up a bit.

Any help would be appreciated

it's fine to mix. leave as much soil in the root ball as you can.

that's a decent amount of light for that space, but you can certainly use more. Try to find the 42W CFLs (spiral-type) for around $10 apiece.

yea its okay to mix the soils when u transplant dont damage any roots and if they are curled up gently pull them straight this well help the plant grow taller nd bushier..to tell you the truth put that baby outside when the stems looks strong enough nd thick.. enough..it takes alot of work off ur hands all u need to do is water nd check on em once nd a while....if u continue to grow indoors ur gunna wanna increase ur watts once u see them grow .. 11/13 ..11 hours on 13 hours off..also make sure they're waterted daily 2 times aday shud do it.....also mist the leaves occasionaly this slows down the growing stage but makes buds much bigger in the end..any more questions feel free to askkk...how tal is the plant by the wayy?? happy smokin :)

they are both about 1 1/4 in. above the soil.

theres no need to transplant yet its looking good thoo it looks like ur waterin it good..id let it dry up a bit so the roots strech in search of water this makes the plant increase growth but dont let it dry up to much...keep the lights on it nd keep uploadin pics the more pics the more i can help

twice a day watering is a recipe for overwatering. 11/13 will put the plant in flower immediately. don't listen to that clown. 18/6 or 24/7 to keep it vegetating rather than flowering.

put some pictures up and we'll give you a good idea of when to transplant. 42W bulbs are about the size of your fist. google "42W CFL". becuase you're restricted on space, I would def recommend 42W instead of 26W, as they're not much bigger, but put out a lot more light. Mount them horizontally to maximize vertical space.

yeah you've got a while until you need to transplant. fast is not as important as doing it gently and correctly.

when your'e in that small pot, you should not need to water more than once every several days, maybe even once per week. That volume of soil should retain enough moisture for that tiny plant for many days.

i usually drip a bit of water out of a bottle whenever they look alil dry on the top. not too much tho cuz im worried about overwatering

dig your finger in a knuckle to see if it needs water. the very top can get dry while there's still plenty of water in there.

18/6 and 24/7 are both fine. it has not been determined which is better.
