Hey all, in need of some big help.

Have a 4k grow op going with 22 plants in 5 gallon pots with coco.

My problem is, I have a 35 gallon reservoir that is always filled with ro water with a float valve. I have one air stone in their to circulate. I recently noticed slime build up on the hose of the airstone. And this is the water I have been feeding all my plants to. The plants have a slight yellow to them and I'm already 4 days into flower. Have i infected the plants?? Should I not have all that water sit? It takes about 8-10 hours to fill. What's the best advice yall can give me.
any help please.

how often do you change water?
is the reservoir sealed/dark ?
I havn't changed it really. I use 10 gallons at a time into another 35 gallon rez and mix my nutes, then feed. Then the back up 35 gal rez fills again with the float valve. The backup rez is in a closet with the that's partially dark with the sliding door half closed. I do put the lid on, but since the water pushes the sides out, I'm not able to put the lid on all the way. Hope this makes sense. My concern is, have I contaminated my plants using this water with the slime? what should I do?

like polishpollack said,it's probably algae.algaes don't infect your plants.instead they compete with the plants for nute, water and most important oxygen.when they become too much the plant growth will be slowed.
i would recommend to get the solution out, then clean/desinfect the reservoir and then do as you did before, but change the whole solution about every 10-14days.

slime in water is usually algae growth. there are products out there that can get rid of it.
I did add some pool shock, but I still see slime.

Okay, I did just that right now. Emptied rez, cleaned with bleach/water (3x), cleaned all hoses and pumps as well. Now filling back up with fresh water and the lid completely sealed on. Thank you for the help! really appreciate it.
