Please Help pick out the seeds for my first grow!

Hello RIU community!

So this started in another thread I made, but it's starting to turn into other (kind of unrelated) advice.

So here it is, I am looking for a couple different strains, that meet most, if not all, of the following requirements:


-Indica/Sativa hybrid. I dislike the pure Sativa "mind-fuck," and I also don't want a bud that will put me to sleep. I want a bud that has a clear-headed, euphoria, and relaxing high. Giggles are great, but I don't like my bud turning me into a zombie, or tripping out like I'm on LSD :P
I also would like to keep the plants short(ish), so they work out great in my cabs.

-READILY CLONE-ABLE! My whole plan hinges on the ability to clone, almost a must for me.

-8 Week Flowers (schedule!)

-Decent Yield. As I said, I don't need enough to sell, this is just personal consumption, but I need each plant to be able to provide me with 1oz (dried) bud, after 2 weeks veg, under a 250w HPS.

-HIGH QUALITY!!!! An absolute must. No further elaboration necessary.

-A reliable Seedbank. I don't feel like getting ripped off, or having my stuff snatched my The Man.

-Finally is taste, the lowest of my priorities, but still a priority. It would be great if it could be something tastey! Lemoney, piney, grapey, what have you, I want it to be tastey!



I have picked out a couple seeds from Attitude, and I was hoping people with experience with any of them could tell me if they actually do fit what I'm looking for, or if they aren't. I also welcome any additions

Critical +, green grack or critical kush are a good start and comply with your requirement

The gsc is slow veg with a 250w she need 3 weeks at least
c99 don't stay low she strech x2 a least
headband too
the other should be fine

As far as reliable seed shops go check out herbiesheadshop.com use them got thru customs safely and seeds grow pretty well within a week of ordering

Someone was telling me earlier that critical was the same as big bud, and lowered quality, I take it from your response, that's not the case?

skunk 1 sense seeds is very stable
high yield
short flower time
very smooth mellow high/stone
easy to grow
easy to clone

its been around nearly 30 years so they have got this strain perfect

most modem strains is all about getting the highest THC so you are a zombie, or tripping out like your on LSD

818 headband can produce some seriously nice phenos
g13 c99 is not the way to go (c99 wise anyways..way better 'versions' can be optained)
i personally say dont do CC gsc , if you want anything close to the clone only..CC is not the way to go. Sin City Sin Mints when available is a much better option.
I wouldnt tell anyone to ever grow Greenhouse..ever.

So far, the only one from my list that no one has said anything bad about is Bomb Seeds THC Bomb >.<

@madininagyal what breeders are you referring to for the green crack?

@We Can Make Sandwiches how likely do you think it is to get a nice Headband Pheno? I know in the end of the day it's just a crapshoot, but how many phenols do people see from them regularly? Will I need to grow 10 to get the Pheno I'm looking for? I've had this stuff sent out from Cali before, and know it can be great, but I don't want to have to grow a bunch to get the right one, like I said, I'm new at this.

1. Do not waste your time on GHS, especially Kalishnakova.

2. Looks like you're considering fem beans - DNA and RP are more expensive, but what's 10 bucks more when you're gonna live with them at least 3 months? Kosher Tangie and Lemon Skunk were both excellent, and a soon to be chopped Kushberry looks fantastic.

3. THC Bomb gave me 4 completely different phenos from 5 beans - mostly above avg.

4. Female Seeds is the 'go-to' for C-99 - always consistent.

And you're saying you would suggest THC bomb, correct?

And I keep getting mixed messages about the C99, but the write up makes it sound so good!! Grrrr

Reserva Privada, sort of a sister company to DNA. There's a lot of fem beans I'd go for before doing THC Bomb again. Dr Underground, Soma, Humboldt, and Dinafem - even Delicious and FoS.

first grow chances are you will make a mistake or two. something cheap and what your looking for nirvana blue mystic and some by other breeders that are in the lower price range. good quality and if ya mess them up bad your still not out of much. work your way up to higher prices so youdont get real bummed out possibly. and stay away from cali conn for a while you do find awesome plants but they also can be full of problems. luck of the draw. and if your.goin c99 go with female seeds instead of g13. the females seeds c99 is 100% better as is blim burns as it came from frost brothers stock. just my two cents. wanna see ya be happy and do well thats it.

Oh I'm planning on there being mistakes being made, but seeing as I plan on keeping a mother around for a while, I should be able to try again with the same genetics, and I'm shooting for high quality, so I figure I might as well go for nice genetics. Time will tell, still researching everything, gonna start ordering things in the next 2 weeks or so. Wanna start popping beans in September!

Alright: NEW SEED LIST, INPUT PLEASE:

Reserva Privada Sour Kush AKA Headband (until I'm told otherwise, my favorite choice so far I think)
Reserva Privada Kandy Kush
Bomb Seeds THC Bomb
Dinafem Blue Thai

How are the quality of Dr. Underground? If they're dank, then also

For Reserva Privada Id personally do Strawberry Banana (i love flavor) & its a toss up between Skywalker Kush & Kosher Kush. (I would stay away from Kandy Kush, Sour Kush Ive heard is nice tho)

as for the CC 818 Headband, i cant remember the fella who posted some killer shots of his keeper 818HB but it is connected to Swerve so I have a feeling you may have to grow out quite afew beans to find the one you want. Therefore not realistic in your space.

Ive had Dinafem freebies (Blue Cheese & Blue Widow) do great things aswell. Havent seen many bad complaints about them, they seem to have pretty solid gear. Id wouldnt hesitate giving them ago.

DNA/DNA Limited/Reserva Privada/Grow Your Own/Crockett Family Farms are all pretty much the same company and packaged the same way. They sell alot of fire..but alot of crap..just like any other company tho. Lemon Skunk is always a treat.

Yeah, I ignored several of RPs OG strains, as many of them had 8< flower periods.


Really appreciate the input folks! Think after today (hopefully after a couple more pieces of input) I'm gonna buy my seeds!


Now it's time for lights!!!
Anyone want to suggest a good place to get a 250w HPS and 150w MH? I was planning on DIU cool tubes, but premade is fine, as long as they aren't tooooo pricey :D

I've always wondered about humboldt seeds. What was your experience Amos Otis?
