Are LED lights the new generation of indoor growing?

Can LED lights truly keep up with a 1000 watt HPS? I'm currently operating two 1000 watt MH/HPS and is thinking about switching over. My real question is has anyone tried the Pro Max Grow 1200? Supposedly a 250 watt LED that performs at the equivalent of a 1000 watt hps if not better? I'm going to be eatting noodle cups for the next few months but if it's as good as advertised, I'll be saving some serious $$$ over electricity. What are your thoughts fellas?

I looked into led before i started mine. I asked a lot of people and a lot have mixed opinions on it. I was just gona get a mars hyrdo to do the grow but im now running hps. Everyone said that led is good for veg but make buds go fluffy and light?? I still wouldn't mind getting a led but maybe later down the track. Would be good to see your grow and outcome of a 1000w equivalent and see how they stack up.

I run all LED (A51) and am very happy. My buds are definitely not light or fluffy. I moved over from CFL so I can't compare to HPS. I run about 260W in a 4x4 flower tent and can handle six plants in 3 gal pots pretty easily.

Much rumor out there re: LED. Many old arguments about LEDs that are 5 years old

LED tech is advancing faster than computer tech.

Check out Supra on the LED forum. He sells cutting edge custom LED. That's what I did

Look at everything that's for sale at Home Depot etc., it's all going LED. That's where all the funding is going for research

That will be a while.

The extra up front cost of the tech is offset to some degree by lower operating costs and cooler operation

Standard filament technology was the original technology and at some point won't be seen anywhere but a museum

I have a beauty setup from him. Beauty. Panels and spots on tripods. One set for veg. One for flower room. Remote ballasts for heat control. Perfection
