Size difference in males and females.

So, its often said that the fastest growing plants are usually males. I have not really found this to be true.

I currently have 9 plants each about 2 weeks old. The diffrences in size are crazy, ive never seen anything like it. All are bag seed. Im going to flip them soon, so only time will tell. I just want to know if anyone has really looked into this myth. (Maybe its not a myth)

it's not a myth or fact but rather a generalization that males have a tendency to grow taller quicker and are first to show gender

but we all know this is not set in stone and I have experienced exceptions to the rule

Some of my girls (hopefully) are quickly becoming monsters. The rest seem stunted.

I started lst, and fimmed one, and fimming the rest as they grow

Here is a pic of the new growth after the fim job. I never fimmed before not sure if its normal but it seems happy.

The difference in growth is most noticible when they naturally switch from juvenile to intermediate growth. i.e. when they naturally start to switch from an opposite to an alternate branching pattern.. Maybe this is when you throw them to 12/12, or if you let them go long enough they will make the switch without light adjustment.

Anyway, you will see the difference in stretch once they enter the final phase of showing sexual maturity. The boys will shoot for the sky. Early on it is hard if not impossible to tell.

Just my opinion and experience.

I'm running a few regular seeds and the ones that are male are maturing much faster than the females. It happened pretty fast.
