No meter but at 24" above the canopy it looks to hit the corners well. Just like I figured the center isn't a hot spot it seems to be a pretty even spread. Better than the hids I've owned.

Sent this pick to my buddy I took last night just goofing off. I'm going to invest in a radiospectrometer. That outline is a 4x4 space. Of course the pic is dark but it shows how even the coverage is. I like it.

I have a sail switch in my plenum on my lights. No air no lights. I would hate lose my LEDs. I use a 4" blower and a 6" inline carbon filter. I use veros driver harder. I have mine dimmable as well. Nice LCD power/volt meter built in. $11.00 from fleabay. I'm surprised everyone including overseas hasn't utilized this knowing carbon filtration is needed and air exchange. 800w of led only needs around 70cfm to cool the LEDs and the area. 46" x40". That's 2 bars, 8 LEDs per bar. Also air filtration on the input is needed. I am using CPU coolers. With fans. Also thermal fuses on each sink. Input ac needs to go through an emi/rfi filter like a pc supply uses. Also 3 movs across input. That will keep spikes from getting into the supply's. Nice job. Stay ahead of the market.:clap:

I am using the dimmable drivers just haven't took the time to order the potentiometers yet. I also have thermal fuses and will be utilized in final build. Really cool thing is the bottom plate is aluminum and it acts as a heat sink as well. I wouldn't have thought so but it stays around the same temp as the heat sinks themselves. At least it feels that way.

Sorry. Out painting the house again. Summer project. I use 120v mov's. 3 per light. I use a receptacle with a emi filter built in. The I come off of the line side to my fuse. The to the line side mov. Movs clamp at a given voltage. 120v are rated at ~150v clamp if I remember correctly. The the fuse blows. They are quite fast. And cheap. $2 give or take. The emi filter I just on fleabay for $9. Then you have a nice plug and play fixture. You can mount a flow switch in the exhaust port (sail switch). It may save you money. $35. No air no light.

just when i was getting ready to retire the old air-cooled hoods... although the final product sounds very tempting i just dont have $1250 to drop on a light anytime soon.

Stephen, are you thinking that the 24" height is legit spacing for the 50w cob? Im just wondering. Curious to see readings. I run 3590's at 50 w and keep em about 12" off tops. Its my first run with them so wondering if i should pull em back.

So far with limited testing with a apogee meter yes with the lenses 24" is minimum in my opinion for my light configuration. So far it is hitting around 1000 in center and 500 at the four edges of a 4x4. The lenses really do concentrate the light. Corners are around 200 or so. I will be doing alot more testing this week and should have a chart by the end of the weekend. I'm going to test it without the lenses as well.

If you look at the chart rahz has put up to me spreading the light more evenly seems very logical. I would run it where center is no more than 900. That way the outer stuff gets more of the light to help have a better overall harvest.
