Anybody know how to cut glass?

A friend broke a old water pipe of mine, I was looking at it and thought damn this would make a great extraction tube.. I'm going to use a rubber cork with a fitting as a place to put the butane in. It's like 22 inches probably.. But the cool part is that is color changing, I've never seen a color changing extractor tube before..

But I need to cut off the broken end, any ideas?

Oh dude...I forgot. My roommate used to make bad ass glass hoofers for knife hits. Big thick glass bottles, I almost want to say he cut the ends off with like a plasma cutter or something... been a long time.
I'm sure some of the glass guys on roll could fix it. Clean it real good.
Since im an ol pothead...do that..what dr pecker said...

get a piece of string, soak it in lighter fluid, tie it around where you want it cut, light it on fire, then immerse in ice cold water.

Well that's badass! I wonder if it wil work will 99% alcohol and Borosilicate glass.. I'll try and report back

you could work with as is...nice thick glass would be perfect for extraction
Honestly you are probably right. I would just be scared of a blow out and that is a pretty big tube. but as long as I use a metal screen over it it would most likely work fine. The only thing is, which is sad, I don't want my friends to call me "ghetto" I'd rather them be "damn bro thats a dank ass tube".

I don't think it will work that well on Borosilicate. It's pretty resistant to temperature shock (which is why it was made in the first place).
I have a paper on it, let me see if I can find it...

ah yes...here it is.

I've seen this trick fail on Italian wine bottles, regularly. Although, that could have been because the people trying to do it were drunk Italians.
