where did i try to push anything as fact? where did i say ITS A FACT
First, you're not the only one I was directing my little diatribe towards. But, if you like, I'll go find it, as long as you promise to not go edit it out of your posts first, ok? :D
AND i just figured that you being so against oboma meant that you were for mccain you got me there... but id rather vote for one or the other instead of just wasting a vote... thats MY OPINON... please vote for whoever you want... but i dont follow blindly to what the media tells me, i hate our government and the shadow government behind it and i know that the media is controlled by the government therefore i dont trust it... im not voting for obama because its the "popular" thing to do or because "i have hope"
You say you don't follow blindly what the media tells you, yet in a previous post you stated that you came to your conclusions on Obama's mj stance based on something you saw on television. Do you see the disconnect here?
i just know its either the giant turd sandwhich mccain or the giant deouch bag obama and i think my pussy needs cleaned out
I agree, both are BAD. Now, if only all the Obama supporters would learn as much as they could about the man, the process, and their options, they'd end up voting for Ron Paul and he'd make SUCH a fucking dent in this election! I am passionate about this stuff. I was bred and raised for it. :)
and i said buddy not he... a girl cant be a buddy?
Um.. not your buddy. I'll be your friend, though. :)
COMPREHEND WHAT YOUR READ
I do. I score very high. I own at least five different dictionaries (not counting the Spanish-English), one is a two-volume set, and three thesauruses. I use them ALL the time, I have one sitting right here on my desk. They're immensely helpful.

Look, whatever problems there are with Obama, as far as domestic policies go, he still kicks McCain's ass in a fight for 'Lesser Evil'. (At least for me, as a pot growing, pro-choice, lesbian.)
Obama may be saying that he's not all for decriminalization right now, but his history shows that he was just four years ago. McCain is anti-anything-to-do-with-drugs, and always has been.
I think once Obama is in office, he may still be silent as far as drug reform policies go, but in a round-about way, having a president that doesn't hate marijuana might help us in the long run.
Also, McCain instantly earned my complete disfavor when I found out that he wanted to overturn Roe vs Wade. Project Vote Smart - Senator John Sidney McCain III - Issue Positions (Political Courage Test) WTF, this isn't the 60's, that issue is OVER.

I believe that he's slinging that nonsense in an effort to pander to the fundies and evangelicals. Which is a copy-paste straight from Bush's notebook. Imposing the beliefs of a fringe-group on the entire American people, RRRGGH.

I would go into the whole legalization on marijuana being basically unlawful, IMO anyway.
I feel it would be preaching to the choir.
But face it the Govt is never going to back down and say 'gee, we been BSing the public for a 100 years so we are going to decriminalize it'.

The Govt is making lots of money off it now. (see property and cash seizures) And the Dems really like money. And the Repub's really like their law enforcement.

America's longest war, the war on drugs. Congress makes the laws, without congressional support the President can't do a thing, (according to the constitution anyway, separation of powers). Unfortunately it seems that the executive branch wants to be the Judicial branch, the Judicial branch wants to be the Legislative branch, and the legislative branch wants to be the executive branch.

And they are all guilty of it.

The History channel had a good program on it, "The History of illegal drugs".

The problem with what you are saying is the American people are getting fucking sick of their bullshit, states where it has been put on the ballot prove that fact, it's only a matter of time.

I don't disagree, but I am nothing if not a woman of integrity. My personal integrity simply does not allow me to not vote, and to not vote according to my conscience.

Why's he gonna beat you up? I admit, I don't see all his posts, and he can be rather passionate (in a different way) as well.

And do you believe he did the same when he VOTED IN FAVOR of legislation allowing the federal gov't to illegally wiretap US citizens? Is that what you believe? And do you believe he did the same when he voted in favor of renewing Patriot that suspends Habeas Corpus? What say you?

not spending a surplus into a major deficit like it was nothing would be a start
What surplus was this? I must have missed that windfall. You must be talking about the yearly budget me thinks (sssssizzle).

LOL

This is called watch the BIRDIE politics! Forget the yearly budget folks, it's a drop in the bucket of our debt.

The U.S. debt is at .... get ready ....

$9,501,839,884,899.64

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of
$1.85 billion per day since September 28, 2007!

LOLOL SURPLUS!!

As for the OBAMA and the weed thingy, I just threw that in there as a caveat which I felt might also be germane to this particular forum (weeeeed).

Obama has redacted on just about every issue, and if you think he is going to come out swinging for Weed, I've got some land I'd like to sell you.

Just try concentrating on the real info in that post, not the drippings. Thx.

out.

Weed will NEVER be brought into the mainstream until it has been entered into the TAX rolls. Always follow the money .. always.

Tobacco came thru the front door, and monies made are siphoned to the Govt. thru taxes (which then vilifies it).

Marijuana came in thru the back door, and monies made are siphoned off to the Govt. thru LAW ENFORCEMENT (which then vilifies it).

BIG DIFFERENCE

So, until we can figure out a way to go thru the front door, it's not gonna happen.

I'll roll one to protest.

Okay, I wasn't sure who you were speaking about at first. (Which embarrassed me a little.) When I went to look it up, it showed that Habeas Corpus is another facet of our decent society that McCain seems to be pitting himself against. Yes, I would believe that. It seems to match his character as far as I understand it. (Maybe he's a really nice guy at home.)
Do I believe that he's doing it to sway the more zealous Christi-political followers? Perhaps in part, at the very least. Or maybe he really believes that people whom are abducted by the government are always abducted with good reason and without error.
It surprises me that a man who has a history of being tortured as a Prisoner of War would be against such things personally, or maybe McCain neglects empathy as far as those sorts of things go. I'm sure that he wished at least once during his time as a prisoner that someone or something could have rescued him.

Of course, Obama is for Habeas Corpus, which gives me yet another reason to support him. While I was googling who you were talking about, I found a nice little speech about what he thought on the topic.

Floor Statement on the Habeas Corpus Amendment | U.S. Senator Barack Obama

I'm a sucker for a good speaker.

I was referring to Obama, not McCain. Obama can say anything he wants, but where "The Rubber Meets the Road" is in his vote. He voted for Patriot, he voted for FISA. Talk is cheap and it's the vote that counts.

yah remember back in 1999 when there wasnt huge unemployment numbers and our president wasnt spending three times as much as we take in? yah clinton didnt ACTUALLY have a surplus that bush turned into a deficit... but clinton did do a MUCH better job with his budgets and acutally LOWERING the debt than bush ever did...

what does 2007 have to do with clinton? i believe his last buget ended in september 01? so we have noone to blame about a billion dollars a day more in debt than who?

It's called selective memory.

Any Californians still remember the budget surplus George Deukmejian (sp?) left us with? (sigh) But NOW we've got The Governator. :|

Earthly Passions, don't be a sucker for a good speaker, they ALL speak well. Follow the money, Obama is for sale. Follow the voting record (I've posted many links in just this thread already, though originally intended for the original poster who has LONG since left her own inane thread, they're meant for EVERYONE to use). He votes for the Patriot Act, then he's voting OUT habeas corpus, he's voting in illegal wiretapping, he's basically voting out the 4th amendment. And he exacerbated the problem by voting for FISA (even Hillary knew better than to vote in favor of that fucking tripe!). The only thing "golden" about this boy is his honey-colored skin.

Seamaiden, Obama is no more for sale than McCain. They are both beholding to special interest.
Both Obama and McCain voted for all the above that you stated here.

Please next time show both guilty parties.

Like you said, follow the money.
