I've been using CMH for veg and they look amazing. Only 315w too.

I'm about to pick up 2-3more of these lights... Look into it, they work great for veg.

I have been but the $400.00+ price tag is too hard right now, t5's are $125.00
and bulb replacement is negligible plus with the right bulbs they can do as well
as metal halide for veg.
I'm actually looking into them for the flowering room for their higher PAR value.

Yea and i will get better coverag than the 1k mh. It will end up in the greenhouse this winter i am thinking.

You'll be able to design a much better footprint than a 1000 with less electric.

The system I would use includes actinic, UVa, UVb, and reg t5 bulbs 854 watts
for veg you don't need anything more, saves heat and electric.
I believe it was @DCobeen who planted the idea for full spectrum t5 growing in my head.

I was thinking of changing my veg setup to have like 6 t5 8 bulb lights but how is the coverage on them? Don't you have to keep plants very close to them just like cfls?

they have a little better penetration then CFLs, but same type of idea...4-6 inches off the tops. I ran a 2x4 panel t5 for a long time in a 2x4 tent, makes the best growth economically. MH will veg em faster, and less a headache keeping canopy level, but t5s are a nice setup to use.

Well guys i put in my two weeks today and will talk to the temp place tomorrow morning. They can find me a place with more pay like i was promised or i will find it myself. I also forgot i havd been off the Mt Dew for a week now. This really is a big deal for me. I was drinking 6+ litters a day and have been wanting to stop for years now. I just need some good news from an investor or two and i will be full time gardening which at this point is what i hope for.

Yea trimming here pays 10 per hour. I have 2 kids and rent is 1k a month so not a option

ouch i still pay 200$ a pound ... but i also get 1800-2500 for my greenhouse weed .
if your still going to fort collins you should swing thru and help knock out a proj or 2 for skilled labor i will pay 25 even using my tools

I had to quit coffee when I got disabled that was a bitch, I used to drink 5 pots a day
and just stopped. It took about a month before I could get up and not grab my mug.

Tea is what I drink now but not nearly as much. I grew up drinking coffee it was hard as
hell to give up but the caffeine was causing me to tense my neck mussels and that was
a bad thing with the railroad tracks that hold my head on. lol
