Have patience with my newbness.
. Ive have acquired some seeds from my caretaker mistakenly out of every three or so ounces I received from him. Its always ONE strain an its some sort of OG or diesel breed. So when I found them my first childish thought was "Oh They Must Be Miracle Seeds!!". So i waited a couple weeks or so and started germinating them to see anything would happen.
A couple days later, Yayy
we have sprouts! Impatiently I planted them into some solo cups filled with some of my luscious tomato soil i grew with this summer. ( bad idea possibly).Bare with me! I proceeded to name them by African American female music artist , not knowing how to identify them. Erykah is doing fine she is sprouting and and has shed her seedling cover. Aaliyah isn't looking that well and I actually don't know whats wrong. Left Eye is starting to sprout up but shes still got her seedling cover attached. I did some research and i know its probably time to move them into some better soil and start a light cycle.( Is transplanting ok at this point?) So i'm doing 16 hrs on starting at 4am. I will transfer them into some new soil tomorrow. I would really like the Rollitup communitys help on doing a reliable indoor stealth grow as i have roommates. I think it would be awesome to make these ladies the best they can be with the help of you guys so all tips and criticism are welcome and appreciated!

ive only grown at 24hr light in solo cups .... i germ in a paper towel till i get 1 inch roots then i put dirt in a styrofoam cup poke a few holes at the bottom put in dirt... i make a hole with a pencil in the dirt put my taproot down leave top of the seed showing and they stand right up in about 12 hours..... once i see a few roots coming out the bottom of my 12 oz styro cup ( usually aruond 3 nodes) i tranplant into a gallon pot.... im using fertilome ultimate and my plants love it

btw.... not sure how long left eye has been growing but if her seed shell is stuck u may have to manually remove it.... i had a blueberry og seed get stuck in the shell and almost die on me. i sprayed with warm water let it soak for a few minutes sprayed her again soaked for five minutes then ever so carefully pryed her soggy shell off with a needle tip ( there is only so much energy stored inside before it Has to have light)

soil used for growing tomatoes should, should being the key word, be fine for growing cannabis in as well..

as for the seedling that still has the shell stuck to it, i've found if you put a lil bit of water on your finger, and carefully wet the shell and seedling, you can very carefully remove the shell.. just be super gentile with it..

i'd let the plants get a bit bigger before transplanting them though.. maybe, idk, shit, 2 or three weeks old or so.. very young plants will also have very young, fragile roots as well.. letting them get older will allow the root system to develop a bit more and make them less likely to suffer from transplant shock imo..

one last thought, most people use an 18 on, 6 off, or 20 on, and 4 off, for veg mode, and 12 / 12 for flowering..

the reason i use styrofoam cups is i will us a razor and cut a line 3/4 of the way thru the cup str8 down side of cup then across bottom ...then i pull the cup apart gently have virtually no transplant shock...(not squezzing or tapping on my cup to loosen the dirt)

24hr light (im using cfls) so of course heat isnt an issue..... works great for me and it cuts veg time by 30%

idk, i once read that plants grown under 24 hours of light will grow 30% faster than plants grown under 18 hours of light, so of course i was all over it..
tried it for a few grows, and didn't really see any improved growth, so i went back to the 18 / 6 method, fwiw...

in my mind , haveng the light off would allow the plants to strectch upward a little more, keeping my light on seems like it would keep the plant sqautting and make it grow bushy before growing up i like to keep my nodes close i top aat 5 nodes (around 4/5 days after transplant if healths good)

Thank you guys so much on repling. After giving them 6hrs of darkness Aaliyah seems to be doing just fine. I will take pics shortly.
Daloudpak how reliable is that seed company? Also should i cut holes in the bottom of these solo cups?
