Had fun with the title as I've been recently made aware that my Mars and Galaxy LEDs are considered garbage here. I'm a noob so I'm still proud of my innovations!

Started with a single Mars II 900w in a closet, had to get a tent so I grabbed two Galaxy 185w UFOs, decided to replace 900w with a new 1200w unit. I envisioned using the UFOs under canopy.

I made several noob mistakes which may have affected yield; but it seems popular opinion cheap LEDs give low yields so I dunno, in case they look light. I have 20 or so days left for flower so who knows. Okay who wants butter?

Your setup is killing it with those old school pink mix. As you increase your lighting though consider adding in some white light for the sake of your eyes and your plants. Commercial vertical farms still use these pink light mixes to grow leafy greens in abundance, but you won't see these same lights being used on bigger bushier plants further into their lifecycle in vertical farms because of the lack or understanding of photosynthetic response. Considering your lighting I think you are doing great, but I would advise adding a 4000/5000k light source above your plants to satisfy their natural environmental requirements which should add the density you desire. With that being said I would definitely vape that bud you showed. Keep up the great work!

Hey man, use what u got. I started with a MarsII light as well, it has taken me on an amazing journey from buying lights to building them. I think your UFO lights on the little stands looks pretty cool. You might not have a massive yield with these lights, but it will produce some bud that you can proudly say is homegrown.

Thanks man. Yeah I've done some research on DYI, it's definitely up my alley. I've already sold the 900w Mars II and will be using the 1200w at least once more, prolly UFOs for seedlings. I may take time to build a light though. Fun stuff though

Just a heads up Six9 that pointing a light upwards towards the bottom of your leaves does nothing, the underside of leaves do not do anything to photosynthesize light. Save on your light bill and take those an either use them somewhere else or at least put them above the canopy at a different angle.

Wow I was going to ask about that but didn't. Thanks friend that's helpful. think hitting them from a side view would help?

Curious about light hitting the buds though. All I've read indicates buds like light. If photosynthesis is nill or greatly reduced by hitting fan leaves from underside, how about buds? The UFOs are nailing the popcorn underneath

Nice setup, keep rocking it.

When @Growmau5 said he's been on a journey he forgot to mention he's absolutely killing it these days and pulling something like 1.8 g/W which is just silly. I can't wait to join the silly club. Got my COBs yesterday, now I just need everything else.

Ha this site is def not 420, but there are some smart freakin people here. I'll be humble, kinda.

But yeah this shit is a journey to say the least, I miss partying and hitting the bars. Four indoor girls and one outdoor girl have me whipped, and they've yet to give it up.
