you need to fix your water source. ec is much too high. I run in hydro and keep my EC at less than 0.5. I also wonder what your pH is, I'd guess well over 7.0

suggest getting an RO system, and then using the RO water + X amount of your tap water to come up with an EC around 0.1 (before adding any nutes)

What kind of RO system do I need? I've been looking on ebay and there are all sorts of styles. cheapest for 35euro is a three stage (i'm in europe). It says it is made for aquariums. I only am a personal grower so I need nothing major. Something simple do?

you can get by without a really high capacity unit because you can mix the RO water with your tap water for volume.
But do not get a cheap poor quality unit. Lots of cheap junk on the market, with questionable reliability and hype marketing.
I don't know which units are good or bad.

also your tap water is not really good as regular drinking water, so you might want to consider a solution which also provides enough water for drinking\cooking. Same algo applies (unless their is something nasty in your tap water), dilute your tap water with the RO water for best salt levels.

Always ... Always do a thorough rinsing/soaking of cocoa. I just got bit by a batch of coco, that needed rinsing that I did not rinse cause I thought I no longer needed to do that. I'm back to my old routines, soak\rinse 3x, and add Epsom salts to the last rinse.

And maybe 8 weeks flowering was too short...was it 30 % amber when you did cut? Cause 10g for 8 weeks vegg...!
Try to go 12/12 direct next time or just 2 weeks 18/6 in a good organic medium in a 11L pot and add only water and a bit of molasse.Less things to do...so less mistakes possible.

Has nothing to do with flowering time. plants were unhealthy because of high alkalinity and high ppm. Big no no s

Yes, coco has a high CEC with affinity to hold Ca, Mg Fe and other ions. Once the high CEC is met it acts like a normal media with a high buffering capability. Its that storage and buffering capability and drainage that makes coco special.

most coco ferts are designed with this in mind. For myself I buffer it with calmag and Epsom salts.

and I order an EC reader so I will soon know how much is my tap water.

yea, my first ever grow has been my best. In soil, in a pot and generally left alone. Sadly I do have black thumbs, unlike the rest of my green-thumbed family. I make mistakes that others would think is wrong even before doing it I fear.

I changed to coco on my second grow when I went indoors.Heard it was easier than soil. Well if you are smart with plants I am sure it is ....
In my first few grows I only watered when it was dry. I could grow some really great plants and the root balls were great. problem was the yields were just ... average. I also had mag lockout in week 3-4 of flowering. They needed more water.

In my last grow I feed too much water in veg so the roots didn't grow as strong and followed the wrong advice on the amount of epsom salts. Far too much I found out later. First grow with My cob lights too and had them 16" and now moved down to 10". My next batch of plants (currently under 125watt CFL) will be 3 weeks old when they go in the tent. How high should I start the lights off ..... and when to lower them. This light science I have no idea about. No idea what to look for either .... let another thing to learn!

Now I water like this in coco to see if it gives me better results - In veg water coco like soil and in flower water coco like hydro. Not dead on there but .... that direction. Just need to work out how to use my light for best effectiveness.

The only thing that sucks about an RO is the water waste. you will throw away 2 gallons for every gallon you get. We are in a drought here, so water cost are up and waste isn't worth is. Since we are at the bottom of are resevoir, my ppm's are over 700. Go with one that is at least 100 GPD (gallons per DAY). Any thing smaller will take to long.
 
It really depends on what is in your water and at what ratios. When you get too much of certain things it can cause a lock out of something else. RO is easy because it only has what you add to it.
 
How much water are you using? Can always get distilled water from the store to lower it. Here they have a machine you can use to fill a 5 gallon carboy but not sure what kind of filtration they use
