Hi guys,

Just wanted to show you my set up, any suggestions would be welcomed.
yes KISS
keep it simple stupid

change out the CFLs for 1 panel LED .....take that top light off and the side light
then set up a screen in the box for u to do a Scrog

CFLs light vs heat ....the heat wins it is smarter to go to LEDs

for autos i like apollo (good blue and red mix makes nice plants for me )

300w would be bit of over kill for u i say get that ....but the 180w will work too

Photo plants .....u might want something with more red then the apollo (good for growth)
http://www.amazon.com/GalaxyhydroTM-Spectrum-Greenhouse-Flowering-Growing/dp/B00INM0750/
this has more red in then the apollo will do good

i own both of those leds .......they are cheap they will work

I got 8 inches to play with regarding depth. Should be able to get a panel in a couple of months, just kinda settled for CFL's for the time being coz of cost and the odd cheap full spectrum LEDs.

The ones you showed look good but just go over 8 inches regarding depth.

How about this?

Are those seriously 4 cfls bulbs what maybe 23w each. No no if you're gonna do cfls get an actual cfls grow light, you can get a 250w on ebay for about $120 should be less than 8" depth. Otherwise do what justugh suggests and go led. Other than that ya looks like a good set up for 1 or 2 plants.

While your setup is far from optimal, it will surely return you with a little bit of something. You cant really fit too much power in there without heating/light bleaching and taking too much space. That being said, i would rather build a bigger cab like 3x3 and throw a 600w HPS in there. While you have your little grow here, you could start on a flower cab and hopefully by the time you finish vegging, your flower cab will be ready.

26w each, I think I'll just start them off like that but will look into getting that LED.

Yeah I hear that, just had to go down the small stealth route, wish I could get a bigger one but will have to wait, temps are sitting between 28 to 30 which is decent for the amount kicking off in there.

Ya bro you gotta do better than that and is there some way you can hang the lights lower and adjust them as the plants grow. I start my plants with a 23w cfl on each sprout no more than 2" above them, this prevents stretching which can be a problem in the beginning of veg.

I was just planning on putting them on some books and dvds to avoid the stretch, get them a couple inches close
up or getting some magnets and make a shelf to keep the air flowing freely

Ya build a shelf if it's gonna be closed all the time.

Ah i see. I would ask you to swap positions of the cfl's vs the led's but 99% positive your plant will grow into the bulb if you do not adjust/train daily. Also, in flower that box is gonna stink like hell! So if stealth is a concern, then carbon scrubbers is a must.

I would use t5's and adjust the height of the plant daily, a single plant in the pc box would work great :)

you don't want anything over 100watts in that box or you not keeping the noise or heat low,
base it on 50w per Sq/ft and you will be fine
