Taking Cuttings during early 12/12... Just don't do it!!!

Once again...because I always try things before I knock them I wasted about 4 weeks of my time. I read somewhere that if you take cuts in early flower that after they root they get very bushy with short inter-nodes. Well after waiting almost 3 weeks for these "A:wall:" holes to root. They did get bushy alright... but the leaves looked all weird and distorted. 1 Leaf / 2 Leaf / & 3 Leaf foliage happening. I didn't take pics this morning because I plan to just throw them out. I don't have time to babysit and troubleshoot bullshit cuts. Now I have to hit up my seed bank again for this particular strain. :cuss: :wall:

Super cropping does work but it is a Slow process, I tried it and Got 1 of 5 cuttings to flower. The crazy leaf patterns will subsided over time.
2 out of 5 did not root and the other 2 did not grow as quickly.
My space is limited, If I had MUCH more space I would try that.

Time, I got tons of Time.
Not to get all Zen but the patience required to garden will grow as you continue.
You can Struggle or just sit back and let it happen.
Your struggle will only bind your mind, it won't speed the growth process.
Bless,
DZ

Well I got 9 out of 10 to root and they all look jacked up with purple stalks and green tops... just because you said that I'm going to put some pics up Wednesday when I go back home. I hope they are still around I was so pissed I didn't water them and I turned my T8's out... :?

Early in 12/12 as in they have already started flowering? If so youre going to have to Reveg for a bit that's a given, that's the strange leaf patterns. I take clones while I'm cutting below my screen after a week of 12/12 with no issues what so ever. Tighter node comes from your light levels, appropriate light will tighten the nodes up, in adequate will cause stretching. But if you feel you wasted your time, think of it like this now you know that doesn't work for you.. Time not wasted.

Good... since you are familiar with this process tell me. I took them from the bottom and the stems were kinda hard. I was using Silica because temps were a little high in my flower room this summer. Now..the bottom portion of the stems are kinda purplish and the top is green and fatter that the bottom stem... if I cut my losses now I loose 3 weeks of time, some rock-wool cubes and a few dabs of rooting gel. Would you keep them going? It was my first time doing this so maybe I jumped the gun because I never saw cuts look like that before...:weed:

Your clones will be re-vegged and ready to rock n' roll by the time you order seeds, wait for them to arrive, germ them and so forth. It would be silly to kill them.
Good point... just scared to put time and energy into a bad start. Trying to maximize my results as always

Maybe some pictures would help? I have taken cuttings during flower numerous times as others have said. Including reveging a bloomed plant to take a cutting. I may do that this time on a 3d pheno I have now. Anyway if it is growing I would continue and take cuttings again. I grow and clone in soil. The leaves will turn back to normal. Sounds like heat is an issue.

I'm going to have some pics sent to me in a couple hours... I like that Idea... I'm going to take more cuts off of the top parts that look good and go from there. Great Idea... saved me about $300

Sounds like you went a bit too far into flowering.. I do it because I fill the screen and I know the little bottom guys won't produce so why not just make a whole new plant. That being said I've taken them later in flowering and they do have the thin then thick stem as you mentioned. It also depends on how established the branch is, if your taking from the top of a lower branch it should still be fairly soft not the hardened stems we get at the trunk.. It just seems to help with the viability of the clone, but this is just what I have picked up from my own cloning trails. I don't rely on the clones condition to make it do what I want, if I want bushy plants I top and crop as I go with lst to spread the auxins out as evenly as I can. I wouldn't rely on any preconceived notions of what a clone should and shouldn't do due to the time of cutting, I make them do what the fuck I please hahha

ive pulled cuts from 2 weeks in flower all the way to 6 weeks in flower. BOTH times success. op, everytime you take cuts from a flowering plants its gonna grow weird for a while until the hormones get back on veg track. don't get all worked up, patients (its what I tell my 1st time growing buddy, calm down, and wait), 1 finger, 3 finger leaves are normal!!
