It's the eighteenth of September. I am anxious to harvest because of paranoia about getting caught. I have about a dozen really big plants in flower, but they aren't "ripe" yet. One plant started flowering before the rest. She has lilac colored flowers, and because this plant split, it made more tops. (Meaning lots of colas forming)
How far along in the flowering does one see the frost? Some photos showing crystalline sparkly buds. Mine just look like flowers so far.

I'm waiting it out, watching weather for freezing temperatures, and watching cars. I don't know when they started flowering, or when they should be ready for harvest.

And your saying none of those strains are packing on any frost....I've grown afhgan and it was frosty early on in my experience

Not like yours... They are sticky, they smell pineappley, and otherwise look like they should. Is the frost visible to the naked eye? Or are the "frosty photos" all macro?

No mine are frosty naked eye no problem seeing it a few feet back even Are your plants in a super wet area

Hardly, our humidity runs between 10-30%. It's a desert. Sagebrush, rattlesnakes, antelope. NW Wyoming.

By the looks of my photo above, how much longer do you think I should wait to harvest? If we don't freeze, I know it's a few more weeks.

But you know what I've had plants that didn't develop tons of frost but had that sticky feel that your talking about kind of a clear stickiness that's around the buds and they turned out to be some decent smoke .....like I said genetics and strain have a lot to do with frostiness although taking care of your girls and doing things right during flower especially does help IMO

I have pulled some popcorn flowers off and smoked them; it is a nice high, 1/2 Indica, 1/2 Sativa.

From the looks of your pics I'd say your a while out still there guna farm up more those pistils are still completely white from what I see .......dude trust me get yourself a cheap loop so you can check trichs that way you know exactly when to harvest and if you have a loop you can make sure your at least in the harvest window incase you do have to cut because your scared of the cold getting to them

Yeah taking them early you will still get high no doubt it will just be a super heady type high IMO .....and if your growing Inda sat cross IMO it's best to let em ripen all the way so you do get the best of both worlds growing that type of weed in the first place ......just don't short yourself taking them early

I'm not a dude, dude. I'm an old woman.

I'm going to let them go as long as they need. If we are forecast a hard freeze, I'll probably have to harvest. But I keep an eye on the ten day forecast, so far just upper thirties.

Just remember that it's as just as important to put as much time into the harvest as you put in the growth. They look great, don't rush if you can avoid it. You will only chest yourself.
