Hey fellow growers, this is my 4ty grow and i keep having the same issue through veg of my older leafs starting to yellow, i cant figure out what may cause it.

Im currently growing in coco coir and perlite 70/30 my babys (seedlings) are on day 10, i started with a low ec nute mix of 0.3 and am now on 0.7, im using canna coco a and b, rhizotonic and cannazym,.my ph is around 5.8-6.0 depending how long the tanks been stood for but i dont, want to add more ph down when it hits 6 as it raises the ec, the humiditys around 70% with temps between 79-82f ...

I also use vulvic acid as a foliar and my leafs do look nice and green apart from a couple of my plants that have yellow coming through, the only 2 things ive done wrong as far as i know is, when i first added water to the coco my ph tester was off so the water had a low ph of about 5.2.. i let it dry it before adding the seeds, i also foliated one day with ph adjusted tap water but it had only been stood for about 2 hours..

Why is it i keep getting the yellowing? I cant seem to figure it out? Ive had this problem before but this grow is the only one were ive used a ph tester, ec tester, etc etc, tue others before i literally read the back of the nutr bottle and added straight tap with no ph adjustment so i always thought that was the reason..

Ive added some pics of both the yellow ones and some healthier looking ones.
Id appreciate any advice relating to this, as its still early days, i dont want it to get worse.

At that age......It's only starter leaves - they do die off.....normal.
Really? Because thats how my previous problems start and it seems to spread up to the newer growth, im not disputing what your saying, im just basing it on what happened previously, i sincerly hope your right, it just seems a little early, my seedlings are only 10 days old...

Your right, it is kinda early for that.....sorry.

Use Baking soda for pH down........I'm not an EC kinda guy.....ppm's - old school and not much of anything to do with Coco....NEVER liked coco.....Too much of a pain in the ass.....Your adding Ca/Mg right? You need to do that with Coco..
I would skip the Fulvic foliar......at this age.......maybe a weak N foliar

They look rather small to feed much. I might be inclined to get my plant bigger before moving to the coco.....

How often and how much do you water?
Hand watering?
Up the N part of the nutrient a tic

Did you give them only water at first? Because remember, coco is inert. I feed from day one with seedlings at around .5 EC
.7 EC sounds good for right now;-)
Remember, feed everytime. Ph around 6.
Skip the foliar for now.

please don't use baking soda for ph down. I know the dr. knows his shit, so must have been a simple mistake. Maybe try Apple Cider Vinegar for PH down.

Like i said before i started with a weak 0.3 ec and moved upto 0.7 now, my water ppm is around 110 and ive advised not to use cal mag yet as canna nutes have enough cal mag in to start with as there made for coco especially, now i do have cal mag, i mist every other day with it, as for the vulvic, ive only used for 3 days but its made my leafs turn really green..

I know the ins and out of coco, i doubt its a cal mag problem as im in the uk and our water is treated with cal mag, plus the nutes i use have cal mag in them, and i do have it hand but i dont want to raise the ppms if i dont need to, i mean the majority look really healthy its just a couple that start to yellow.. i doubt its lack of nutes even with coco a seedling has all it needs in its first seed leafs but i still add a light nute mix... its doing my head in trying to figure it out..

i would suggest given them an ec of 1.2 watering every 2nd day but not too much water and just stick to the canna a + b and a little bit of sea weed. check your ec meter is working ok too. slight yellowing is normally nitrogen, also try to get your tap water around 20-24 degrees Celsius, if its too cold you can get zinc deficiency. they look fine to me dont stress too much they will feel that haha. some kush love the nutes but also seen some not so big on feeding, flush at least once a week too. my 5 cents worth, good luck.
ps i think your over doing it with all the supplements, you can just give them coco a and b until they really get going. there babies remember, like humans you dont flog them from the start, gradually build them up.

Cheers dude i appreciate the advice.. not to sure about raising the ec so high with them so young though, but i am new to all the ppm testing etc etc... ill see how they go like i say the majority look really nice i just dont want them to fuck up, as for the additives.. rhizo and cannazym dont really raise the ec i think there natural root stims, as for the vulvic that seems to have worked well getting the leafs green.. im just unsure of wether to add cal mag to the tank... as for checking my meters lol i found that out with my ph tester.. that needed calibrating, my first feed i gave them water until run off with a ph of 5.0 thinking it was 5.8.. maybe that has something to do with it.. i dont know.. ha
