The one thing that's fishy to me is that they sealed it back up with regular shipping tape. I've always heard that it comes resealed with special colored customs tape?
You ever see behind the counter of any airlines (or anyplace for that matter) that handles freight ?
Tape. Of all kinds and colors - I've worked for the govt & know for a fact that clear tape is available.
The letter seals the deal - it's ligit & your gear got "jacked" by customs.

I always have some kind of tape sealing the envelope's, this is from the company's taping them shut.

What the hell are you talking about? There is," No signature,No official stamp, no contact info other than generic customs address no appeal process no nothing" really? Because that shit isn't on any letter from custom's. And your custom's friend is full of shit too. Custom's got your stuff plain and simple. You think that there is a seed company with old used up confiscation envelopes in a pile to mail out to stupid stoner's? I don't buy it.
I could print this in like 2 seconds with a image from the internet don't be fooled. Hell people print money LOL

So in your experience what happens if it was legit. What advice would you give in the attempt to try again? Just curious...

Hell no The Cop's are probably already on the way, their just waiting till Monday morning.
LOL just kidding man. No nothing happens all you need to do is make sure that where ever you order from they offer some kind of guarantee for when this happens. You don't need to worry about fake names or addresses or using your bank account, if you are legal. I'm in California and follow all the laws so no sweat. Custom's isn't going to follow up, for all they know the name and address is already fake. When they take your seed's the burn them and move on to the next load.

This seed bank are just scammers. Multiple orders from several different people all came with customs have seized your gear letters in it. Funny how there is never a green or blue customs inspected tape to reseal the package. Also they used the same tape to seal both ends like a razor had been taken to it. And a fake "we want to scare you seizure letter" my friend showed the letter to one of his customs friends, it was a fake. After numerous email exchanges they blamed me and said they would call the local police if I didn't just get ripped off and go away. NOMATER WHAT ANYONE POSTS ON HERE DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE ON HERE THAT SAYS THEY GOT ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. But if you still want to through away money contact me, I need donations. LOL

i've got an idea... why don't you simply try and email the company that you bought the beans from instead of starting a thread about it that they'll never see, and see what they have to say about it?
a lot of banks will work with you if your gear got snagged ime... not everyone mind you, but a lot of the bigger banks will simply reship to keep a customer..

the one order i had gotten snagged a few years ago, it had the letter, and it wasn't taped back up, but rather stapled.. just depends on what they feel like doing and what ever is closer to the inspector at the time i'd think..

My seeds were seized in NY on my first order last week. So disappointed. Trying to email and see if they will resend or refund.

I had a very similar experience. Same clear tape on the outside. No signature or stamp on the letter.
I noticed a couple of other things:

The package arrived 16 days after I ordered. That seems very fast for a package that was diverted to inspection, inspected, confiscated, repackaged and delivered. I can't believe any US government agency is that efficient.

The letter stated that the contents were "Cannabis Sativus" which is wrong on a couple of levels. First, it is Cannibis Sativa (Sativus is carrots). Second how did the inspector determine what the seeds were. How did they determine it was Sativa (Sativus) as opposed to Indica or Ruderalis? Would they really state the species based on observation. I would expect them to simply say plant material or some such generic term.

I finally found a site that had reviews of many seed vendors (http://en.seedfinder.eu/seedbanks/reviews/). This company (Original Sensible Seeds Company) had far more ratings where the customer got empty packages with Dept of Ag letters than any other company. Many people were also complaining that when they asked the company to make good on their "Guarantee" they went radio silent.

I can't prove this is a scam but the high number of complaints plus the questionable "letter" is very suspicious. Where there is smoke there is often fire.

Just so you know, the government considers all marijuana cannabis sativa...they make no effort in identifying any differently. Either way, this is a scam by the seed vendor!!!

I also have been screwed by OSSC. I ordered first time over a year ago. About $200 worth and nothing. Ordered from Canada at the same time. Wish I could remember the name of that company they we're great and so was the product. I digress. Wrote an email. They told me to wait . I did. Nothing. They told me to wait longer after another email. Meanwhile my bank calls me. My Bankcard is getting charged thousands all over Spain Italy and France. I have to cancel my card. Then I get a notice. No tracking info available so they say it was lost. Now months have passed. They only credit me $130 . Odd number. But now I'm desperate to recoup anything. I reorder. Another 5emails and nothing. Now they'll reship. OK I say. Again we're 4emails in and 2 months more and nothing. I demanded a refund of my original purchase amount. Ill never see it. Do yourself a favor and get great beans from Canada. They rock. OSSC is a scam.

sad they used the sensibleseeds quote in their business name, not to be confused with sensibleseeds.com who send in original sealed breeders packs, have ordered from them for well over 10yrs, no prob
