I will be growing ONE "Bubble Gum" Plant in a grow box in my closest. Should I get a 250w HPS or a 400w HPS light?

250 is plenty but are you growing from clone to assure female, otherwise you risk growing for months with nothing to show for it

Is it possible to grow a decent harvest with CFL's? Back on the day I germinated a seed and planted it, grew about 6 inches while under a CFL and then my parents got a hold of it. Now I live by myself and this will be my first REAL grow so I wanted to know if it's worth forking over ALL that money on a HPS light for my first grow. What do you think?

i would go for the 400w....cause there about the same price....but yeah your gonna need some fans and what not...

If I were you, I'd grow at least 2 plants. You'll certainly have enough light for them... and you say that your closet is HUGE.

I will...It's just that my friend game me one clone from the club (Bubble Gum) and that's all they had at the time.

the 250w will be more than enough for a single plant, and if the closet is huge heat shouldn't be a problem with decent ventilation.

then again, if you have such a large space why not grow 2-4 plants or root some clones? they would all grow happily under a 250w.

one thing to consider though: a 400w is only about $50 more and puts out 50k lumens compared to 27k lumens from the 250w. Like Specialist said "the more light the better," so a 400w is always a good investment.

About how far away (in feet) should my 400w HPS be away from the plant? I plan on going to the hardware store to buy supplies for the grow box and I am going to use that to determine how much wood I need.
