Should I top a big bud strain? It's critical + (skunk x big bud), I wasn't sure if I'd get a bigger yield if I FIMM or topped it

FIMMing can and will produce extra colas especially combined with topping, I topped mine on week 3, waited 1.5 weeks to allow for healing and about 2" grow then FiMed got 8 colas sites growing.

I FIMM for cloning purposes all the seedlings and first sets of clones until i got moms that I'm satisfied with. I always keep the clones when I'm starting out a new strain and bud out the seedling(s) I don't top or FIMM the clones that go in for budding that are snipped from a mom. Clones make better moms.

There are a lot of different views on fimming, cropping etc...I have cropped not fimmed yet, but my next set of clones I am trying fimming. here are two good reads about techniques.

Welcome and have fun growing... make sure to check out some of the pinned info on the site, lots of info.

Those two sites are where I went to to get tips on mj plant training and a few more too, youtube has some good tutorials as well.

Look around get some knowledge and your good to go.

Happy growing!

Fim/Top basically the same thing.. Yea, in general you want to top your plants for small indoor grows. Just top the shit out of your plant. Top it once at the 4th or 5th node, then all the lower shoots grow out. Top all of those, then top one more time. You'll have a nice bushy plant that is easy to get even light to.

Check out mainlining. It's a great way to train the plant. Or LST is faster and equally effective.
