Hey everyone, I'm brand new here, and brand new to growing!

I just noticed these signs of pests and was hoping to get some tips on I.D.'ng the bastards, and combating them. Obviously in the first couple of pictures it appears that something has taken a bite out of the leaves, and in the other one there is a white residue in a ring shape (this is evident on at least two leaves). Please let me know what you think! Thanks!

Is that a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe I see lurking behind that Strat?

Hi Jaypee I'd say nothing to worry about. Has the plant been in a window with sun or is it under HID CFL lighting? I had them rings on a plant that I'd vegged in my greenhouse, it was a burn from large water droplets Could be similar? That little chunk looks like a tear imo Love the Strat btw

Got me. Usually those little white dots indicate insects and it's usually spider mites. Have you examined very closely with magnification?
Have you ever had spider mites Hot Rod? What was your first sympton cos although I have never had them personally everyone I know who's had them just got blazed overnight with mites an webs an shit! I have had many many plants with these tiny necro bleached spots and loads of unexplained leaf damage, start worrying when they look like zola buds feet!

Damn you have good eyes! He must of treated them already.:eyesmoke:
I blame the SR-71 for not seeing your avatar earlier....

Although it looks as if a water drop had dried on #3 the small white/yellow spots looks just like the beginnings of a mite population....

Look at the underside with a loop to be sure. Now is the time to stay on top of them. good luck.

One time - I noticed the tiny white dots. A few days later there more. A magnifying glass showed little red critters. Hot Shot pest strips up and adios. However I would hesitate to hang them during the last week or two of flowering. That's why I asked if he had looked.Search for the problem and it seems it's not always bugs. Why I asked if he had looked.

Forgive my ignorance but what's a loop?
