Thank you!!! Shoot girl, I lost two! They weighed me at my last labs, 121 pds. I was 306 in the before shot and miserable as hell. I could barely walk anymore, my back was bad, had awful nerve pain from the diabetes and was slowly losing my will to live. I didn't choose to get that way, between the accident I was in and the nerve pain, I could barely get around much less live a normal life.

I will never look or feel like that ever again! :D
So inspiring!!! Many hugs!

Not a lot of folks around here know this but I had gastric bypass nearly two years ago. The doc said I'd be dead in five if I didn't do something drastic. I started eating healthier and cutting out carbs beforehand and adopted a new lifestyle including walking 3 miles a day and working out.

I'm more fit now than I was in my youth! if I can do it, anybody can :)
congratulations on your successful surgery - sounds like you used it as a line in the sand and made drastic lifestyle changes. i know loosing weight is hard - this last 15 pounds that i would like to finish loosing has been difficult - and it's always great to hear success stories like yours! 8-)

i'd also like to clarify that in my mind's eye a woman weighing three hundred pounds looked a lot heavier than your before/after photo--the woman in my mind must weigh 500 pounds bongsmilie

Anyone use "tap talk"?

I know @a senile fungus swears by it.

I have it on my new phone, but I can't seem to figure out how to get rollitup on there.

When I search rollitup in the app, nothing shows up.

ATTENTION TECH SUPPORT!

I might just be retarded.

Thanks undercover :) I did and yes, lots of drastic changes. I stopped eating fast food, simple carbs and exercising a lot. One of the best things you can do to start is limit your diet to lean proteins and non-starchy vegetables. That means no rice, pasta, bread, potatoes, etc.

I also trained myself to regard food as fuel. Think of this: ethanol free gasoline instead of regular unleaded. The human body isn't designed to eat half the crap we do, including fast food. If you look up the calories for your favorite go to spot, you'll find out there are zillions of calories and fat and very few nutrients that you actually need or use. Without the proper vitamins and minerals, your body can't do what it was designed to do and properly breakdown and use the food you feed it. You don't need fancy weight loss supplements, just something potent like Centrum Specialist Energy Mutlivitamin formula (it covers everything!)

Hitting a plateau is common at the point you're at. Whatever you are doing, step it up. Add more reps to your workout routine, more lean protein (my favorite is skinless chicken breast) more veggies and fiber and you'll see it fall right off. You have to eat to burn, don't make the mistake of starving yourself to lose. That never works :)

no rice?!? my husband is Japanese and we eat a lot of rice :-) don't starve yourself? @roseypeach it's like you were reading my mind ;-) i have a hard time wanting to eat...so breakfast and lunch are meals i have to FORCE myself to eat and i had just decided to skip breakfast. that's probably why i'm not loosing these last pounds...
people don't know this but: i got sick a few years ago--went from 110 pounds to 179 pounds in less than a year due to being sick. i gained it so fast it felt like i had put a fat suit on--i have always been thin so it was very disconcerting for me during that time. i'm around 135-140 right now (it fluctuates) and would like to get back to 120-125. i had gotten down to 133 just a few weeks ago...and somehow gained it back. i've never had to diet or lose weight so this experience has been an eye opener for me; but i still think obese people do need to have a line in the sand--it's from experience.

Then try brown rice (converted brown rice is ok, Uncle Bens) it's a common thing to do, starve oneself to lose weight. What actually happens in reality, your body hangs on to that extra weight for nutrition because you aren't giving it any of what it really needs ;)

Instead of skipping breakfast, try a piece of dry whole grain toast with a tablespoon of low sugar peanut butter spread on it, or a couple of hard boiled eggs. Peanut butter and eggs were my best friends early on, if you don't like those then try a handful of nuts (hemp seed, sunflower seeds, walnuts, etc) and some not from concentrate juice (of your liking). That will give you plenty of energy without the carbs to weigh you down. Carbs have a nasty habit of making you sleepy within a couple of hours of eating them. You know about that after lunch slump? yep, that's what I'm talking about.

Protein comes in many shapes and sizes, you'd be surprised! just google alternative sources of low-fat protein.

I'm the resident nutritionist it seems..if you want more info on anything in particular, hit me up on pm anytime.

Good luck to you on getting to your goal. Cheers!!

P.S. If you have trouble getting hungry, smoke a doobie, works great for me ;)

thanks for the breakfast suggestions - i'll give them a try. i need to focus on healthy alternatives that are small and easy for me to eat while hitting my nutritional requirements. for some reason, carbs, protein, fats--it just isn't clicking right now.

only certain strains make me hungry and right now i'm smoking sunshine daydream exclusively and it, thankfully, doesn't give me the munchies. i hate the munchies-it ruins the effect of the cannabis imo. i grew a lot of strains last year and one (can't remember which one) was TERRIBLE - i'd smoke, i'd eat, smoke, eat again, and then i'd need to smoke again... i think i gained ten pounds from that harvest.

have a great day!
