Recommendations for end of life cancer care PLEASE.

Hey all

A friend of mines mother has stage 4 lung cancer. My friend moved home to help her dad take care of her.
She can't eat much, and I'm going to say smoking is out of the question.

Any ideas on how to make her more comfortable with marijuana? I said I'd bake something for her, but swallowing is very difficult.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I’ve heard a lot of people talk about Tinctures.

Also I know there are a lot of people that make extracts around these parts, and I’m sure some of their patients are likely cancer patients.

I wanna see what works best.

Sooner than later the LP’s are going to be supplying extracts. I doubt it would be very hard for her to get a script.

I don’t know how to make anything but butter and hash.

she may not make it that long ..not to sound mean but my best friends mom just died of stage four lung cancer it was not long before she died previous to diagnosis

Sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer is balls.

This girl moved home in the spring. Her mom is dying, for sure. They don’t really know how long she has left. But she has almost no appetite. It would be great if we could get some medicine in her somehow just so she could have the will to eat something.

I think she can swallow sometimes, and not others. I’m not sure actually. I just met this girl in the Spring. She’s real nice though. It’s a pity.

Hey Yessica, sorry to hear about your friend's mom :( I make caps with kief (dry sift/hash) and coconut oil which are my favourite meds. Great pain relief and long lasting. While she may have a hard time swallowing caps, there's only a small amount in each cap that would be ~1/4 tspn of the oil which could be just taken by spoon, like taking cough syrup. 100mg of this mix is quite strong and last hours, one or two a day would be good, may help her sleep as well, once you come down after a few hours you crash quick.

Oh yeah, that’s what I’m banking on! Fingers crossed!

EDIT: I’m banking on us making it. Not the LP thing.

Although, I did get an e-mail from Tilray and they projected within 2015 still. I think.

You make butter. Make some caramel. It will dissolve in her mouth. Only little bits at a time. Could be mixed into another drink warmed up. I use infused oil in my coffee w hot coco mixed in and it works perfect also.

Topical lotion on the throat can help with swallowing for some patients. Stage four is tough. I hope you can make her at least somewhat comfortable. It will be even harder on your friend and and her father and I send them good thoughts!

FYI you need to wash your butter if making candy though otherwise it can taste burnt. Lots of info on washing out there or you can hit me up if you need.

Yessi i had the same issue a while back where a cancer patient i knew wanted to use cannabis because he had loved it when he was young but didnt smoke anymore and wasnt keen on smoking it. He had stopped eating, well anything but soft drinkable type food. And he ate popsicles. So we started working on a plan for a cream extraction which we were going to turn cream into orange creamcicles. It took a while to find the molds for the popcicles because it was winter, and when i finally did find them i bought all the ingredients to make it happen. When i got home i called the girl whos dad was dying to tell her i was ready to start working on it and she told me hed already passed. So i didnt end up making them, i made clam chowder instead from the cream and drank the oj. I still have the popcicle molds wrapped up in the cupboard.
I know you can make it happen,ive seen your cupcakes for the science kids, you can pull off canna creamcicles. Just dont make them too strong. You may have to cut the canna cream with regular cream. If i use a pound of butter to an oz of weed for baking, i use three grams of butter per cookie and its a good dose. Id send you the damn trim for free to use but those fucking laws wont let me god damnit. Just gave an oz of trim to a cancer patient for free a couple months ago. He cooks with it. An oz lasts him forever.
