That's what I was going to suggest: FFOF w/some extra perlite or equivalent. Good mix you cannot go wrong but I have also tried roots Organics and sunshine mix #4. Both are also very good choices. There is organic mix available seasonally at Home Depot or lowes but they mostly carry that crap with time released pellets in it- sucks for growing weed. OF is s bit hot so use a starter mix for clones or seedlings or cut it down by half with coco/xtra perlite.

I started my seeds and will be starting my clones in jiffy pellets then I was thinking a 50/50 of FFOF and perlite then to its final 5 gallon bucket of straight FFOF. what do you think?

I think you'll get about a 50% success rate cloning in jiffy pots. I've used them for seedlings but honestly rockwool is much better to use for clones...or use an aerocloner which is best IMO. 50/50 perlite/OF might be too airy; you'll be watering them a lot. I always add a few handfuls of perlite to any mix especially FFOF but I would go with 50% OF, 25% perlite, & 25% coco coir; which is better for moisture retention. Once you get into the 5g you can just use it straight & maybe a handful or 2 of added perlite. I have used just regular potting soil from Walmart or seed starter mix for seedlings or young clones; it's like $3 for a small bag & all you need is enough to fill a solo cup. Just look to be sure it has no fertilizer numbers on it. Also be sure to drill a few drainage holes in that bucket before you transplant. Other than that it sounds like you got a solid plan...

I agree with RD. I did too much Perl in FFOF once and it dries out too fast under HPS in cab. I'm in Happy Frog with a splash of Perl currently and couldn't be Happier (so far)!

okay cool my first plant is doing good. I was going to clone this one b
Miracle Grow is Monsanto...best avoid

I'd go Fox Farm Ocean Forest with 30% perlite added

ezzy pezzy
okay cool that's the plan. I'm building a tent & clone box. I'm starting fresh in December. so ill be posting a lot about that grow.

X2 w Richdry Ffof add perlite, rice hulls, lava rock, rotted wood chunks for drainage/areation. I would add oyster shell flour or dolomite line to help buffer the usually low ph in ffof

BINGO! The first person to properly say that you have to add more Ca!

1/2 to 2/3 cup of Oyster shell or 1/2 cup of Dolo per bag...

My personal all time favorite - Potters Gold ,,,,, NO bugs included (unlike FF soils) and no needed amending of anything...to start
Google that to see if it's in your area...30 days no feeding and then begin feeding at full strength

I wish I came to a better ratio conclusion when I added D.lime last run. 1 Tsp (as I was instructed) per gallon ruined my whOle shit! Lol I'm smoking the burnt buds up now

Be careful.
