Bio-biz All mix. Adding nutrients earlier.

I've seen a lot of growers being scared of adding nutrients to this "highly enriched soil", in fear of burning up their plants.

I've bought and have been using All mix for about a month now and I can share a bit of my observations with it for any growers looking to give it a go.

Basically, before I came to the conclusion of buying this brand of soil, I did a lot of reserach on the internet. I saw a fuckton of people claiming it was "too powerful" for seedlings and that it will burn them up in a jiffy, thus, putting any potential grower off. I know it worked for me, because immediately I started to panic and was wondering if all my hard effort would go down the drain in the space of a few days after germination.

For anyone wondering if this is true, I'm going to share a few things:

- first off, I'd like to say that this is total bollocks, ALTHOUGH I have to admit that after a week of using the All mix, my seedling started to experience a little bit of nutrint burn. The tips of the first true leaves started to turn yellowish and after two weeks they started to die and turn brown. Big deal, that didn't hinder growth or anything like that. The other leaves as of this day have not been affected, so don't worry.

-bio-bizz (and some growers for that matter) claims that this soil has enough nutrients to support lush growth of a potential plant for three or even more weeks. Some even go as far as to claim that the only nutes you should add are flowering nutrients when you switch to 12/12. I unfortunately believed that, because I didn't want to go through the whole frying-my-plant-and-then-having-to-panic,-flush-it-and-nuture-it-back-to-health sort of scenario, plus I'm still a newbe and thought that it's better to listen to others.

Turns out this was the worst thing I did to my baby, because not adding nutrients for three weeks hindered growth to the point that my plant was growing a few mm a day... After a month she has six nodes (!)... After a lot of guessing, thinking, panicing and correcting EVERY problem I could possibly dream of, I added a small amount of veg nutes yesterday (Bio bizz Bio-Grow for anyone that is interested)... and guess what happened.

Not much of course, it's not like she suddenly grew a months worth of proper vegetative growth, but the plant suddenly "stood" up, as if she was in a long sleep and finally awoke, fully regenerated. The size of the leaves also increased a teeny-weeny bit.

Now I don't consider myself a pro grower, but I just wanted to share my experience to anyone out there that is looking to try out the bio bizz soil mix. Sure, it has a lot of nutes, but after two-three weeks it is safe to say, that by adding additional (VERY LOW STRENGTH) nutes, nothing will happen.

Peace guys, let me know what you think.

I am not familiar with All Mix. What is its composition? As to seedlings - I plant seeds directly into little cups of Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting Soil mix. Has enough nutes for 6 months.Put them on my heated seedling mat, cover with a bowl from the kitchen and in 2-3 days almost 100% germination. I transplant when roots poke through the hole in the bottom of the little cup and keep going. The basic advice against no feeds for 3 weeks is due to people having bought a ton of "nutes" they have read make pot grow 3' a day etc and they want to use it. They want pot and they want it now. So the next thing is pics of a burnt plant and "Help! My baby is sick."

Experienced growers know they need feed, just not the time released stuff in the soils. Watch the plant and give it what it needs. Just too much of it to start.
