Why even use pots for that many plants when you could just use one large bed? A 3-4" bed of perlite works well. It would save a lot of pot filling. You just put a hose along the back of it with holes in it, or emitters if you prefer, and continuously run nute solution through it. It's like NFT but with medium and a bed instead of troughs. You can reuse it several times after pulling the root layer out of it. You have to put outflow openings in the lower front of the bed with screen in it to keep roots from growing out too much. I also like to keep the top of the bed covered with white plastic and put the plants in through x shaped holes cut in it. The water vapor condensing on the inside of the plastic drips back down through the medium to keep it from salting up and the plastic also keeps surface evaporation down.90 two gallon pots under 4800 watts of hos spread out thru 6 hoods. 12 foot long by 5 foot wide table. Im aiming for 7 pounds.View attachment 3540221 Thos should be fun
beceause i run 6 hoods over that table and the hoods are side by side and i clean the glass 2 times a week so to keep the glass clean i have to move some plants to clean the back hoods. Its 1600 watts per 5 by 4 area the buds come out real nice i like the light coverage. If i was running barebulb for sure i would go with what you are describingWhy even use pots for that many plants when you could just use one large bed? A 3-4" bed of perlite works well. The good thing about beds is that the roots can grow all they want. It's pretty much impossible for any plant in the bed to get rootbound.beceause i run 6 hoods over that table and the hoods are side by side and i clean the glass 2 times a week so to keep the glass clean i have to move some plants to clean the back hoods. You should look into low iron glass for your hoods. i will for sure. Does it come in the size of the hoods or do you have it cut?You should look into low iron glass for your hoods. It's a game changer for sure.
That's is where I learned it from. Those solistek hoods kinda suck man. The are not air tight and will need to be taped shut. The glass in them however is fucking awesome. PAR meter 12 inches from that hood with a 1000w was the same as a DE at 12 inches. Only difference is you can actually keep the air cooled one that close.Solisteck makes a hood with the low iron glass. Ima start my next room with those. Its the solisteck max88
what hod has the glass allready in them? And u think i can just send my lens to a shop that cuts them and have them cut a bunch to that sizeThat's is where I learned it from. I've been an advacate for non air cooled hoods for a while now. This glass has me second guessing it now.
Go into a shop that carries them. You literally can not see the glass at all when looking straight up at it. They have had people hit their hand on it trying to reach in at my local shop.
My local shop found a company that will cut you any size of the low iron glass, but I'm on the other side of the country. I can find out the name of the company to see if they are nationwide.what hod has the glass allready in them?
