Time to Harvest?

Hi guys! Need some help on when to harvest my two outdoor mamas.
Its November and getting colder. Im in middle east coast area. Temps are kinda crazy this year. Nice and warm one day and cold the next. Checked them out today and I feel I should pull sonner than later because the brush covering them is dying and its starting to become visable.

Please have a look and let me know your thoughts. I cant get trichome pictures but hopefully the pics will show pistol colors. I heard 75% should be orange. Not the case here. Im thinking another week or too but dont want it to get too cold or get caught...

Let me know your thoughts on harvest!
Also, i put about a pot filull of water in each today. Trying to flush. How often should i do this? Last year my smoke smelled funny and i thinks its because i didnt flush enough. Can i use faucet water or distilled purified water?

Edit: just heard weather will be in 60s tomorrow but will rain on thursday.

Thanks!20151117_091631.jpg20151117_091631.jpg 20151117_091631.jpg

LoL... no worries. I know these are very small as i dont have a great spot to grow huge plants. One of the is only 2 feet high. But yea there was a period where i got caught by my landlord so i had to bring them in until i found a good spot. So there are not as great as they could be. Its not full sunlight in my spot either. So i expect this. Either way, small or large they all have a certain time to pull. Also these are bag seeds nothing special. Ill get an 1/8th or so from this so whats your thoughts on chopping now or keep em going?

no need to flush if it's going to rain (actually no need to flush period)

BTW, they are not ready, and unlikely to get much better unless you get some decent weather in the near future.

Start earlier next year, or use auto's so they start to bud sooner

Yes your spot on. These were late starters. Probably in June i think i started them. Flowering been about 2 months .. 1.5 months maybe.

I do need to try autos. Tha ks for your reply.

I am a firm believer in only looking at the trichomes not the pistils and those buds look young. Can you move them in? How long have they been flowering?

Thanks. Its been about 1.5 or 2 months on flowering. But there was a period shit got screwed up. I can move them inside but i dont have a grow light setup. Whats the point outside where they will just die from no light and coldness? The weather is only getting worse.

Do you have a closet with an overhead light fixture? Throw in a y connector and add 2 150w equivalent cfls, couldn't hurt right?

If u think that will work... i can do that...
How long should i leave them like that? It doesnt matter how high the light is? How long for light? Thanks

If you have the closet and 150 bucks, a quick way to get them going in the closet is buy this... http://www.amazon.com/iPower-GLSETX400DHMWING-400-Watt-Digital-Dimmable/dp/B005DO30MI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1447806337&sr=8-2&keywords=400watt+grow+light+kit&pebp=1447806368186&perid=0Y2ZM3TSGMV19SE4FJQR... if you are a prime member you have it in 2 days... in flower, a couple of 150 watt cfl bulbs wont cut it really..it could work for veg, but in flower you need more light. You could pile on the cfls too, but for the cost, the MH/HPS set might be the best buy and its something you could use for more grows too. If you do cfl, make sure they are the 2700k range as it is more red than the 5100k or 6500k.

Wasnt really trying to spend any cash. Thats why i been doing outdoors. I have about 8 cfls i been saving just in case. But i will have to build something.

So these things i have now are no good at all?
That sucks. Was hoping i would have a little something. Oh well. Maybe next year.
Tha ks for your advice!

I waited for 10% amber trichomes before I flushed never paying attention to pistils. All my pistils were orange but was still waiting for the 10% amber. 10% finally came in but the weather here in Norcal got cold, rainy days and the nights dipped down here in the mountains. I flushed for one week but decided to pull rather than subject my plants to harsh weather conditions. A few branches snapped due to weight of nugs October 9th,( should have put inverted tomato cages) that I dried, cured and it is smoking great!!! I cut mine down early November. Only one week into flush but assisted with Florakleen. I was afraid the cold wet weather would adversely affect the plants. Adjust ph on flush water is all that is necessary.
I am a newbie, first grow, but I have been reading everything and asking questions all summer everyday to learn. Rather than possibly lose your plants if you pull them you will have smokeable weed. If you place them inside in a lighted indoor environment wouldn't the plants stress with the huge change? Please post what you decide to do and the outcome.

Thanks. I think i will keep them outside for another week or two. It is what it is. Either way i will still smoke em! Haha I will let you know what happens. Its suppose to rain tomorrow at 68f then the next 5 days will be low 50s to upper 40s. There have been some cold days previously so i think they will be ok. Ill let you know what happens. So you suggest flushing everyday for the last week?

Hi, just got in and reading your message. BUT this time I am able to view your posted pictures when before I could not access them even though I was logged in, go figure.
Looks like your pistils are not ready. I am with the others, try and bring inside. I am not the greatest person to give advice since I just finished my first grow. I read tons of info and was completely anal about everything, babied them. I started my flush I think a week too late. I kept hanging in for 10% amber. All my pistils were burnt orange but I was still waiting. All my fan leaves turned yellow and my plants were begging me to take them down. But I kept waiting for 10%. Then the cold nights came and the wet rain so I had to take them down. I only flushed one week when I wanted two. I used FloraKleen to assist but I only flushed every other day. I was afraid of getting dreaded BUD ROT!!! Very easy to get it during the last two weeks.

Guys and Gals! I dried out and im about to store them in dark sealed tight container. This is what I got... 2 strains... darker one has seeds and lighter strain that was the small plant, no seeds.
I did have a male around for a day, but then i pushed him on other side of deck. Should have trashed him. Second grow but im glad it happened because its a learning process. Now i have my own strain!!! Muhahaha!

So here are my questions...

1. I just took them out of drying phase.
The small stems still "bend" and dont snap. Should i dry them longer? The large stems crack!

2. Can i cure these in this plastic container or does it need to be in mason jar?

3. Can two strains cure together?

4. How long should curing lrocess take overall?

Let me know your thoughts! Thanks!!!
