That sounds good. The draw on Gpen seemed hard too. What's the exact name of the pen on Fez.com? Also, did you ever manage to return the Gpen?I bought a vape at Fez.com for $99 and enjoy it quite a bit. Its sort of new so I was kind of hesitant but its got a solid body with a larger chamber than most vapes i've ever used. The draw and mouthfeel was really smooth. everyone wants different things in a vape but i feel like fez stands up comparison wise to more expensive vapes like the pax 2 or davinci ascent. My Gpen was also crappy, the construction is second rate which is sad because i was hoping he'd do something cool wit his name
Yep, dry herbs. I need something to smoke inside my apartment...I assume you mean to vape dry herb versus oil? Most true "pen" style vapes (like GPen) are just electric pipes, they burn rather than vaporize. An Arizer Air or Solo are very close to pen size, and have great function, and I've heard decent reviews of the T Vape2. I personally don't care to "session" vape and tire of charging the batteries constantly so I switched to a flame powered vape. If that idea interests you the Vaporgenie for $55 new can't be beat IMO. Looks and works just like a wooden pipe but you get clean tasty vapor instead of acrid smoke
I too, have been researching sub $150 vapes and think I've decided on the Zeus Smite at $129. It is not a pen, but a small portable and the reviews are great overall. This one is truly a vape because the heating coil is not in the chamber in contact with the material so there is no combustion. It has three heat settings, which is a huge plus.Hi,
I am looking for a decent vape pen for under $150.
How steep is the learning curve as far as controlling the heat from the lighter? This looks like a good one, and that price is pretty incredible.I personally don't care to "session" vape and tire of charging the batteries constantly so I switched to a flame powered vape. Have you tried it? How's the draw?Check out kandy pens, the black edition isvery similar to the PAX but for like 1/3 the price

I like the fact that it is not a "combo" device and has been designed and built for dry material only. For me, this is a must. The chamber is heated, unlike those that just put a coil in the chamber and this means no combustion, just true vapor. Everything I've read about the quality of build and the quality of operation easily beats others in its price range, and many that cost more. Seems very easy to use and maintain, and packs up into a very small package with the mouthpiece removed and stored inside. Three heat settings are great. All reviews rate battery power and life top-notch for this class. What made you choose it if I may ask?
TBH that looks like a Flowermate clone. The real thing is said to be very good for the price, about $85 on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-FlowerMate-Vapormax-V-5-0S-Portable-Dry-Vaporizer-LATEST-2015-SEALED-/351494543686?var=&hash=item51d6b51946:m:m7cByjjjWitRw8lPOOXgODAI too, have been researching sub $150 vapes and think I've decided on the Zeus Smite at $129. I didn't have too much trouble at all really. It just comes down to not letting too much flame get into the chimney, that leads to combustion. The upside is with practice you can grab a few nice low temp terp hits then use more heat to get the rest of the goodies, or just blast it hot from the start and get full spectrum hits I find a "candle flame" style lighter like a Bic to work best, but adjustable flame is better. I just keep almost all of the flame out of the chimney and pull the heat in when taking a hit, usually 3-5 second draw to get the chamber heated. Maybe that's a consideration for some, it does take a longer draw than a classic combustion pipe, as you heat the chamber. How steep is the learning curve as far as controlling the heat from the lighter? Ugh. Yep, dry herbs. Are there better alternatives? The linked kandypen is for oils? I had rebranded version ( cloud2) and it was mediocre at best. Please don't spend $100 on that without being absolutely sure you want it.
The fez is a popular style, though they can be had well under $100, but I would warn the hits can get very hot with sessions, as the bowl is very close to your mouth. If it's down to those two only, it has to be the Fez is you need it for dry herb.
Right. I need something portable, for dry herbs, with not much draw resistance. There's lots of good ones out there, it's just a matter of fitting your needs. You've said dry herb and at home, are you wanting to stay with a pen? Something like a Da Buddha is very good for a tabletop whip-style

The Arizer Air is a Good portable (as is the FlowerMate I linked earlier)
