16 days into fllowering, what should my buds look like?

A couple extra days? From my understanding it takes about two weeks to dry & cure. I've never done it but its what I've read
I've done a 24hr dry on small buds. Throw them on something blowing heat, like an Xbox. They taste a bit harsh but when your out and you just chopped a bitch down, it'll work.

One time I tried to make brownies out of freshly chopped buds. Nasty don't ever try it.

That's weird looking little bud site dude. Looks like a boy part, but has pistils. Just rip it off... right now. :) And if you see any others, rip them off. It will be fine. Not like you are losing weight by ripping them off... and if they do turn out to be boy parts, you'll be bummed when they spill pollen all over.

That is a weird looking thing though. Never seen something like that. Don't worry about it too much though, as long as more and more don't start showing up.

Haha, about drying, I clipped a branch off one of mine last night... only at 31 days, lol. I hung it above the radiator in the house. Should be ready to smoke soon. Bummed though because I leaned on it accidentally and now it's flat as a sheet.

Ya I thought the same thing so I clipped it right after taking that pic. I check my plants everyday and I check every single node. That type of pod only showed up on one node but i really didn't want to pull the plant because the buds have almost double in size in only two days.

I have a single branch near the bottom that I haven't clipped off when I did my pre flip lower cleanup, I left it there just to clip off on day 45,Dec 5th, I have a "thing" on the 10th and I want to be able to smoke it then, figured it would be about a j, turning into a 3g branch now though:bigjoint:

It wont hurt the plant to clip a small branch off early? My wife wants to smoke some of it bad and i keep telling her she has to wait another month and a half till its finished growing/curing.

So, clipping it at 31 days like me is a complete waste. It got me high about the same amount holding my breath for 2 minutes would. :) However around 6 weeks it will start getting you high, the high is real buzzy, all head, it can be pretty strong depending on the strain, but it goes away quick. Doesn't have the power it will later. 7 weeks is that much more stronger, but still nothing like waiting till it's done. If I only had a couple plants and my harvest needed to see me through a long time, I would try not to clip any, just so it will all be as strong as it can be. Or at least as nice as it can be. I've harvested a plant part at 7, 8, 9, 10 weeks, I think the 10 week was the 'strongest' but not the most enjoyable high. It's sweet spot was really just over 8 weeks. I wanted to see the difference in the smokes at the different times. My favorite was the 7 week stuff, as the rest was just too strong for me. I'm a bit of a lightweight. These days I like to harvest some early on purpose because I like having a stash of less strong, more up buzzy smoke on hand.

And no, the plant wont herm because you clip off a branch, or even two. It's only when you give it constant stress, or weird light mess ups. Or genetics sometimes, but that's another issue.

5 weeks down.... how's everyone's grows doing? Mine's coming along. Found some mites on a couple plants, which sucks, also found a couple spots of powdery mildew. Not too happy about it, but doesn't seem very bad at all. I should be ok.

About a quarter of my plants have started with the red pistils. I can't wait till they are all changed... my early clippings are not exactly doing the job.

I think one of my strains is done in 7, so not long now.

Hope all is well with you guys.

Going well, I am getting some color in pistils also, my clippings packed a decent buzz so I am semi optimistic, I'll post up some pics later, not much different looking than 30 days, but definately getting heavier, branches are starting to pull themselves over a bit more, thankfully no mites or pm here, just a gnat or 2, nothing I can't control so far. Hope all is well with the rest of this thread too

They look great for 3 weeks. I'm on day 17 and I'm behind yours in terms of bud size.
People give me shit about it, but the guy who got me started goes for 5 days dark before flip. So I started doing it too, but generally around three days. It does "seem" to jump start them. Because of the mostly contrary views here, I did flip immediately once and their early maturity was stunted in comparison... Not really recommending it, not enough personnal testing...but you may try it sometime as it won't hurt.

Going well here too. Today is 5 weeks. I am mucking different lighting, augmenting my HPS with some t5 blues and at least at thus point, frost development is better than plain HPS...the first couple weeks I left the MH going and switched after the stretch. Even though the HPS should increase my yield at this point my buds are ok but maybe a bit less than my all-MH grows. Still have high expectations. ;)

I honestly have been very fortunate to not having any issues with mites, mold etc. I don't know if they look like they should but they are finally filling out.The blue dream is producing purple looking sacks so now all the buds are starting to get this bluish purple look. I still think they are a tad bit small but its my first grow so what do I know I will post pics later

They really start to get big from now till the end. Glad you guys aren't dealing with any issues. I'm happy all my clones are looking great and super healthy, so next round is already looking up.

I just did cuttings a week ago. I create 2 plants as mothers every grow to clone from. I do so because I only have one room and a cloning cabinet. So, I wait about 3-4 weeks after flip so they do not outgrow the cabinet. The mothers sadly get tossed except during my summer grow. I supercrop the mothers and it creates some easy cut choices.

For a first time grower i kinda set myself up ok. I have a 2'x4'x5' grow tent with two duct fans and a 600w MH for vegging my plants. A 4'x4'x8' grow tent with three duct fans and carbon filter with a 1000w HPS for flowering. I have a propagation kit in my closet for seedlings and clones. I just need to figure out where im going to dry/cure once im ready

So how's everyone doing so far? I dont know about the rest of you but i think mine are finishing up. Either i was wrong about how old mine were or they finished faster than i was expecting. The hairs on my buds are almost half white and half red/brown. I need a good magnifying glass but i read if you don't have one you can tell from the hairs. Let me know sp i dont pluck it to late or early.

You should wait until the hairs are sort of shriveled up a little bit if that makes sense. Can you post a picture. For me, I just harvest when it 'looks ready'.
