New Growth Deformed Leaves, why are my preflowers so big?

So I topped my plant about 9 days ago but the new growth coming out of one of the tops on some the leaves are like deformed. it looks looks like something bit them I don't have any animals or insects, so I know that didn't happen does anyone know why this is happening? and also plant seems to not be growing as quick as it was. Here is a pic

CFL grow,
Miracle grow organic potting mix soil,
Temps between 72-84,
Not PHing water or soil yet,
Bagseed don't know the strain,
Also no nutes yet just what's in the soil

I'm also wondering if my preflowers-are too big they're almost half inch long the plant is about 40 days from seed here are pics

Hey mate, when you Top/FIM a plant it takes a little while to recover.
Also after either of those tasks the first bits of growth always come back deformed, so it will always look ugly for a little while unti the newer growth comes out naturally when it grows bigger.
Nothing to worry about regarding the new growth, or the pre-flowers.
How is your lighting schedule worked? 12/12 from seed would see pre-flowers this big in a plant but also your plants are indica which means they grow shorter and stockier than a sativa which will grow significantly taller.

I don't see any reason to be concerned about the leaves or preflowers, just keep em green and you should be golden.

I started it off in a window for about 10 days then got 150 watt CFL and have been running 24/0 for 30

meh seems pretty normal to me, veg to whatever height your happy with just keep in mind they are a shorter style plant.
The pre-flowers shouldn't get much more further without you giving them 12 hours of dark time per day.
They are just letting you know that when you are ready, they are ready to be flowered

I'll probably veg for another 2 or 3 weeks then I'm switchin to 12/12 I can't wait
