So I'm running the phanton DE fixtures and they don't seem to have a DE MH bulb out yet. Would I get away with using just hps?

Unintentionally, I used DE hps for veg at a particular location for approx 2 weeks and the plants took the transition from T5 pretty hard. After the initial shock, they recovered slowly, but I swapped out the bulbs for DE mh after two weeks so I can't say if they'd have eventually fully acclimated or not.
That brief hps setup was 2 SSacde hoods @4-600w and 4'+ above the plant tops, for reference.

I usually use regular single ended 600w's with MH conversion bulbs for most of veg, but have vegged with hps many many times before. I've also rocked these DE's at 75% at about 4' away with great results. I perfer MH though.
Here's a new mh bulb out for DE's.
I'm trying out 3 of them rite now(75%) Check back with me in a 2-3 weeks if you like, i'll be able to tell you if I like them or not

I run HPS from established clone stage to the end of flower with no issues what so ever, I actually saw a diminished return when some asshole at the grow store sold me a M/H bulb telling me it would do my plants better during veg .

It works just fine IMO. I'm sure you'll be alright with it. I just like the greener, lusher growth i seem to get from MH, so that's why i'm trying these new bulbs. If they work as good as I think they will, i'll never buy a single ended setup ever again. Not even for veg

Man I love the idea of that and I'm looking to upgrade my 400's to a couple of these but I only got like 6 ft of height even thats a stretch useful height is more like 5 ft and I'm afraid I'd make a pile of burnt leaves before I could grow somethin out.It works just fine IMO. 3lbs from a couple flavors so far(@1150w's) GG4 and a ghostrider pheno i found.
Looking at that picture, the two hoods straight ahead, I shine those type over a 4'x6' area each, perfectly
The one on the right is their other type hood. Better for 5'x5' area.

You'll love them too, I gaurantee it.
Oh yeah btw, for a while there, it was really hard to find the complete setups, so I built them with seperate parts. When I did that on those ones(6), I bought them ushio bulbs. The ones that come with the complete setups work just as good. Don't let anyone tell you differently.
What type hoods did you get with yours? The open on the side ones(the ones I do 4x6) or the gavita looking ones(5x5)?

I got the open side ones. Just got my blueprint controllers hub 8 installed. Everythings all set. Just waiting on my GSC clones to root up then imma fire up them bad boys.
