NRA and the Republicans that support it doomed?

Anything I support must pass the common sense litmus test. Universal background checks pass with flying colors.

I honestly can't think of anything/anyone I actually hate on this earth. I dislike certain things/people, but I tend to pity where some might hate.
Yeah The NRA pushed for gun control when they thought it would disarm more blacks than whites

That's an interesting factoid, not sure why you're posting it as a reply to the post you quoted. I'm not a member, nor are most gun owners. They certainly send me a fair number of membership offers and mailers over the course of each year, but as previously stated, I'm not much of a "joiner".

We've had similar discussions in the past where I think it's civil or you at least keep your anger in check. This is where you usually call me racist or bigot out of the blue.

Go ahead, I'm braced for it.

That indeed was a true statement. Now they don't really care. There are several black people at the shooting range I frequent, and surprisingly they are all NRA members. One is a Sheriff, the others I'm not sure.

Interesting little tid-bit I found out not too long ago. Arizona's gun owner population is only roughly 30% -- I'd a thunk it much higher than that, like 50%.

everyone arguing over gun control its are right to bare arms !!! Most want guns takin away while are states are becoming police states so why should government and police be able to have more power than we already give them. That is also why the right to bare arms and a state militia was formed because the founding fathers new government tends to want power and control. Just my opinion don't have to like it..

Doesn't matter it's pitchforks and torches:

You'll have antiques grandfathered in and receive a credit to turn in your existing arsenal for 'smart' ..anyone caught otherwise will go to jail mandatory or better..heavy fine $$$.
Nope, Congress is specifically banned from creating ex-post facto laws. All the guns I own now will ALWAYS be legal for me to own. Always and forever. The US Constitution guarantees it.

So, we go back to HOW MANY died in those countries (except Sweden, I'll give you that one), and then add deaths cause by firearms, in general. If you want to argue that this country has no firearm problem in comparison to the rest of the world, go right ahead. But as Doer (RIP) would have claimed, it's all sophistry (bullshit).
So you have one country, its population is 5 billion, then you have this small country population of 1000. The big country has 500 murders by gun each year, and the small country only has 99 a year.
Which country do you think is safer?

That's not how law works. You can't criminalize legal activity and then arrest people who weren't breaking prior to the law change. I think the most the law enforcement could do is confiscate the new contraband, but that's not going to sit well with Americans.
My minds eye doesn't recognize law..I can only tell you as far as I can see not the mechanics of how it will happen, mr. buzzkill.
