Did I start my Summer crop too late

Hello I have been reading for a long time but first time posting. I usually grow 3 harvests a year outside. I started 25 mixed seedlings of unknown gender outside July 7. It is getting late in the season and they still have not sexed. Do you think i can leave them outside still or should i bring them inside and force flower. Thanks in advance there are some good growers on this site.

Where are you? Your area's growing conditions and latitude are the biggest deciding factors for you. I've got some plants that were started (germinated) around the same time and they're a couple feet tall and beginning to show sex. Others that were started MAYBE two weeks prior to that and they're definitely showing (girls now as well as boys).

I'm at about 38N Lat.

Sorry i am in Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh. I have started palnts this late before and had alright harvests. obviously it is smaller than my spring or mid summer harvest. I just dont understand why they have not shown sex yet because every other year they have. Also good news for Pittsburgh no helicopters. Gov cant afford gas this year. At least one good thing comes out of the gas prices.
Peace

Oh, I wish I could say that about where we are. Two days ago got the motherfucking SCARE of my life with a black & gold chopper flying figure-eights right above the treetops. I moved my plants under the deck roof THREE fucking times, twice was after I watered them so they were nice and heavy. Back's still fucked up.

So, I'm wondering if your plants aren't showing sex because of global warming. Let me check my notes on when I planted the last of the germed seeds...
SHIT! The last of my Conquistador were planted (from germed seed) on July 20th! Some are showing sex (all male), some aren't and I'm hoping I get at least one woman from this batch, otherwise Conquistador as a pure strain dies out on me.

Honestly they should show I think by the end of the month. But, I'm making more of an assumption than anything else. I'm thinking about setting up an outdoor CFL garden, so that I can extend my growing days just a bit. Probably not such a good idea, but I get these weird ideas all the time.

weird ideas are new ideas, new ideas are the best kind of ideas.

as for the thread question:
might as well let them veg a lil longer. you could probably leave em out till it starts frosting.

yea i extended my grow season via a hot frame green house. It is small of course but a good harvest can weigh about 3 and half to 4 lbs. The Greenhouse is only 10 by 10 but i would suggest putting one together. In 6 months i can grow my whole head sack for the year and also make a few bucks for next season. The whole hot frame only cost about 800 and that u can make back in one harvest. I also believe that global warming exists and think that if it hasnt already it soon will start to affect cannabis and the way it grows. For the first time ever i might be forced into growing inside just so i can control all of the temps and humidity properly. Never growin inside though just because i have a toddler that i worry about finding my science project.

oh i have had a green house before. check out my gallery. it is an awesome tool. but i dont need one. as i live in paradise. plus the zoning codes are ridiculous around here, we cant even build a fence to stop people from falling off our little 50 foot cliff in the back yard.

the light cycle isnt getting any more in your favor. i say veg 'em and move 'em.

It doesn't matter what time of year u start them (as long as there is enuf flowering time) they will always finish at approx. the same time.

Lets say I planted some AK47 in May, and gave some seeds I had left over to Johnny. He is a lazy bastard and didn't plant his until mid July.
Me and Johnny will both harvest at the same time. His yields will be significantly smaller, but timing will be right on....

i understand custom that plants should all finish at the same time but what i dont understand is why my plants have yet to sex. It is the fist time in my 5 year grow history that this is taken place. I am no expert but not a novice either. Thanks for your input though

I would say that i put my plants out around the same time as you. Just about the beginning of July. Out of the three plants I decided to grow, two have turn out to be males and the third and smallest of them just peaked a white pistil out the top node the other day.

They will all finish relatively at the same time as CustomHydro pointed out but the yield will be significantly smaller than if started earlier in the year.

Im just letting mine go as I have no frost or real temperature difference to worry about.

Alright, then all other things being equal, and knowing that others in your area are seeing their plants sex, then the last thing I can think of is that it's got to be the strain... OR! Something in the soil..? I don't know, tossing out ideas here.

i'm a first time grower, just experimenting. i planted one like 5 minutes ago after germination of course. It's in my woods, and it will probably die, but I'm just experimenting like i said.
