Well that's one assumption. However, consider if the individual in question already had a successful op going at home and would be taking a pay cut to make the jump?
if that is the case, which i do not doubt for a second, then he absolutely should not make this move. odanksta says he has been growing for a living for 11 years, which leads me to believe he has established a safe network of people whom he can off his harvest to without worrying about getting his door kicked down. the only motive i see for him moving is so he can be with his best friend, his brother. while i totally understand that, i do not see any other benefit from making this move. he has to pay rent, provide all his own equipment, probably do most of the work himself since his brother will be working at the warehouse, and all he gets is half the personal grow which he won't even be able to sell to anyone unless he moves it out of state. not to mention he'd have to get a real job when he doesn't even need one right now.

don't make the move odanksta. doesn't sound worth it to me bro.

The big factor in favor of the move, however the analysis might look from a purely financial point of view, is that he'd be getting out of TEXAS with his ass intact. This is no small accomplishment and is well worth a substantial investment.

His skills are transferable to Colorado and I'm sure it won't take a former bartender long to establish a new network.

Since hell just might freeze over before Texas legalizes cannabis common sense, I think the move has its advantages. It's of course his call, and other factors may well be at play.

Like girls. Just sayin', LOL

That's one reason I want out..
Yea guy, the stress reduction may be worth it. Overall, it's safer in CO. You'd be able to walk away (for the most part) in a worst case scenario. But in TX, not so much. You're resourceful, you'll find plenty of opportunity out there with a bigger scene. You only live once, go for it man..

Right. Plus, it's not a holding pattern, he gets to ply his trade- IN COLORADO- a feather in his cap that's good wherever he goes from now on. As legalisation rolls across the country, such feathers get people nice jobs in big buildings with lots of quiet, green, yet very profitable tenants.

It's great work if you can get it.

Strong counter point on stress free, I have forgotten about how great it is knowing If the shit hit the fan its nothing compared to Illinois ..where ya catch a case cultivating and its 10x worse.

I gotta change my opinion and vote make the move.

For all the Banana Belt residents telling him how warm it always is there -

"In Colorado, a storm packing snow and cold temperatures could complicate rush hour and cause airport delays at Denver's airport, the Denver Post reported. A winter storm warning was posted for parts of northeastern Colorado until late Tuesday afternoon, with up to 10 inches of snow in some places."

Of course it will do the BB thing and in a few it will basically be clear roads. With melting snow. Freezing at night. Making ice. Making studded snow tires worth it even if only once. I would hate to be in the Corps with the shmucks who blow this all off. The kinds of dipshits that ditch their grenades because they are heavy and they never used one anyway. Until . . .. Then they need some of yours.

My buddy- a Colorado native- and his young son just stopped by this morning with breakfast burritos. They were out having fun, sliding around in their late nineties Taurus...

I lived in Boulder Co. in the 90's and couldn't stand the rent...moved back to Sac-town Cali where rent was cheaper lol
My daughter goes to school in Boulder. They raised her rent $200. per month in one shot and made her sign some wacky pre- lease document. I can't figure out how that was legal? Anyway, that's a boom-town for ya. Someone mentioned Portland Or. a few posts back. It's the same thing there. Where I'm at in the southern region, it's the property values in the semi- rural areas that have skyrocketed exponentially. ( word of the day). There is definitely more money being lost around here than gained.

That's why I don't live in Boulder- it's full of rich people from somewhere else, all looking to be 'cool' cuz they're in BOULDER!

The cool kids GTFO a long time ago. Some of us ended up in Ft Collins...

The Ford Taurus is a great vehicle. I have owned several and am looking for a new one. Although I believe this recommendation is outdated and possibly a bit spurious, but I heard that the Taurus was the #1 automobile used by bank robbers in the U.S. You just can't beat that type of consumer report.:p

It's all good. Until you ram another turkey in a beater and neither of you wants the cops there.

Had one. Had "the clunk" as a handful of mechanics told me. They all recommended rebuilding the tranny. Until a friend whose pop sold cars took it for a ride and brought it back."It's the engine and tranny mounts. There's 4 and 3 are screwed. It's common". Replaced all 4 and no more problems. When it would upshift and sometimes downshift it would KLUNK! Like a bad band in the tranny.

@ODanksta

On yerself. To us plebs who live across the water it's a dream to be able to do what you're about to.

Good luck man and keep us posted.

What's the scene like over there? Crowded I take it?
I can tell you what Colorado is like, if that's what you're asking? He's coming from out of state.

The weed scene is awesome, a bit crowded but very, very sharp. Innovative as all get out. Plenty of hustle, but that's any growing business... pun intended.

I daresay we provide as much innovation for the industry as anywhere in the world, that's saying quite a lot for a small landlocked state.

Are you sure it wasn't a random leftover bullet from a bank robbery committed by the previous owner?:bigjoint:
