I have a few questions about the neem cake
Does it raise PH?
How many cups per 5 lb bag?
Hoes it hep to prevent mites?
I'm not too sure about pH... I grow organically so I only monitor pH when there is an issue which is pretty much never. I just read the bag though and they recommend it with chemical fertz too on the package. I don't think it will cause an issue. It has nitrogen which is slow release like with worm castings. Its pretty mild stuff aside from the smell. Smells like someone took a shit and left the door open in the everything bagel factory.

I just went and weighted out a cup which was 160 grams so it looks like you get about 17 cups per 5 lb bag.

I'm not too sure about the mites with neem cake tho. I know you can add neem oil to your watering schedule and it will go systemically and that works for mites. Neem cake is not anywhere near as concentrated or strong as the oil. People use it as a soil conditioner for a preventative measure for soil dwelling pests like fungus gnats.

It is literally left over 'cake' that they used to press the neem oil out of.

It does act systemically but not to anywhere near the degree as neem oil. I use it because it is much more mild than the actual oil and I don't want that high a concentration systemically in my plants.....

the best thing I have found for mites is DeadBug by Capt. Jack, made by Bonide......Organic and it gets the job done without leaving an oily finish like neem.
I was gifted some excellent strains and unfortunately they came with powdery mildew. which was eliminated by a couple sprays of copper fungicide.

Every pic I've ever posted here was grown with roots organic...

I use it every grow. I have 2 kids so it saves me time mixing my own.

I add perlite / neem cake / oyster shells / worm castings to amend it..... 2 quarts of the perlite, 1 cup of each of the others per 1.5 cu/ft bag...

If you skip the neem you'll get a fungus gnat explosion. Roots organic comes with them free of charge.

You'll want to use cal-mag with it in between teas in veg and into mid flower to get as much nitrogen into the plants as you can or your plants will start to yellow out really fast starting week 4....... This is assuming you are feeding with organic teas...
Ty for the recipe, and fungus knat heads up.

Thanks for the reply, looks like 1 bag can go far then.
I have actually used neem oil as ph up in a pinch before, and neem sprayed during ate flower makes buds taste like shit.
I bought big bags of JR Peters 20-20-20, and 10-30-20, but with the yields and quality I see these days with organic indoor, I am tempted to try it.

Shout out to BB and the crew for getting some SWAG to the BBQ. The beans got scooped up within 90 seconds of them hitting the table and the shirts went almost as fast. Once again I didn't get to keep any beans but that's alright as they were for the BBQ patrons. :)
@Don Gin and Ton @DST
Props to you for representing BB! I was worried they wouldn't make it in time. Musta been close. You probably have most of our line up already ABM no? If not holler!

Yes it was close!! I planned on leaving for the BBQ @ 10AM but my wife was running behind so we left a couple hours later and about 15 mins before we were to leave there was a knock at the door. It was perfect timing!

@Don Gin and Ton I am missing a few along with the testers. I will hit you up and let you know what is missing from the vault. :)
