I don't know about many of the grand claims about BC bud here but living in Montana in the '90s all our herbs came from B.C. I only accidently brought herbs over the border, but never got caught despite multiple times getting the car torn apart by agents both ways. Instead we had pipes and stashes near the border crossings on both sides, Elko and Eureka, as we liked to go up there to climb and ski... but not smuggle!

Anyway back in maybe '99 we went North to climb in the Bugaboos and were bummed to be heading in with just a couple old joints we had stashed in a duct-taped altoid tin! Fortunately it took about 15 minutes to score a bag (actually came in aluminum foil) at the 7-11 in Fernie. We ran out in a couple days but scored some homegrown from some Alberta boys up on the glacier anyway, swapped it for some hard salami!

Greetings friends, first time poster here. Listen, this is a fascinating topic and a conversation I have been looking to have for some years now.. For ages I have been interested in searching down the original indoor hydro strains which had no names that my friends and I were smoking here in Vancouver in 1982; '82 was the year that all imported Colombian weed was abruptly pushed out of the market locally by upstarts growing what came to be known years later as BC Bud. It was uncanny the way that seemingly overnight you could not find the cheaper imported stuff anywhere.

Listen, as I said I just checked in here for the first time and quite honestly I have not even read all the way through this thread yet. Just saw the subject matter and got excited and had to post I guess haha. If there is anyone else here that was around Vancouver in the early eighties when all of these changes were happening in the local weed scene by all means please do chime in!
