HI Mad
I'm using 250 litres dwc set up.
I had a problem with the res temp. I noticed the girls weren't liking it to much an I had root issues, turning slighty brownish which I presumed would develop in rot. I used various methods to pull the temp done and was successful in installing a water chiller and I now still change frozen water bottles twice during lights on. Im currently in 12/12.
While I was in 18/6 the res temp was sitting around 26C with changing frozen bottles 4 times. Trying to maintain a steady temp of 18C.
Now I have no problem with the res temp floating around 18/19C using a water chiller and frozen bottles.
I also have a aircon unit helping with the room temp. Again this is set to the 18C mark.

I hope thats of some help to you although I dont claim to know much as this is my first DWC. But Im pleased so far with my girls growth.

Good Luck

constant temps are definatly a plus, but, keeping root zone under 72 deg. is much more important imo.Frozen water bottles work well if you don't have a chiller. I live in NY and grow in my basement, floors are around 55 deg so I don't have the problem. steady temps at 67-68 deg. without a chiller. But yea if your temps are above 72 use frozen bottles,or even frozen nute solutionto cool your water.
