??? "it's a seed, cover it with dirt"??? Soooo do you also say "it's a plant, just throw sum light on it??Its a seed,do you honestly think nature hasnt got this figured out after a few hundred million years..when seeds drop off a plant do you really think only the ones that land a certain way will grow?..its a seed, cover it with dirt.
I actually always open a small hole and drop the seed anyways it falls i dont care, it always grow., and about all this list you created, in nature they just fall and grow without no help at all, us indoor growers what we actually do is mimic the outside conditions and environment, in nature they got all that that u mention in your list but naturally, thats why indoor growers have to get all this gadget's. Capish???? "it's a seed, cover it with dirt"??? Soooo do you also say "it's a plant, just throw sum light on it??
I mean sheut, should everyone just:
1) stop ph'n the water
2) stop researching which lights are BEST
3) stop researching which pots are BEST (size, shape, drainage etc etc)
4) stop researching which soil is BEST
5) stop researching which nutes are BEST
I could do this ALL DAY but I think you get my point!
But just in case you missed it- I want to know which way of planting the seed is BEST!
I know it's a fkn seed & I know it will grow either way, but what I want to know is if most people on here agree that it is statistically better to plant them pointing up (because they use less energy this way, which increases their chances of survival) or if people think that this theory is BS!
This is what I'm looking for, real world examples from people who have been growing for awhile...THANKS!!I plant all seeds pointing down. just a habit. the root comes straight of the bottom and keeps heading down. ive never seen it curl up then back down. planted my first seed 35 years ago like that and ive never had a need to change it
Its bs??? "it's a seed, cover it with dirt"??? Soooo do you also say "it's a plant, just throw sum light on it??

Exactly, but mother nature doesn't give a sheut if a seed makes it or not, but I do. So if one way or the other gives my seed a slightly better advantage then I want to know, which was why I asked.I actually always open a small hole and drop the seed anyways it falls i dont care, it always grow., and about all this list you created, in nature they just fall and grow without no help at all, us indoor growers what we actually do is mimic the outside conditions and environment, in nature they got all that that u mention in your list but naturally, thats why indoor growers have to get all this gadget's. Actually mother nature is pretty fucking good at surviving and reproducing. Especially weeds!Exactly, but mother nature doesn't give a sheut if a seed makes it or not, but I do. So if one way or the other gives my seed a slightly better advantage then I want to know, which was why I asked.
I am here to LEARN & to compare what other people have already told me to what people on here think, so that i can get a better understanding of what is true & what is BS.
That is basically what I was taught, but I wanted to verify it by asking the good folks on RUI.Mother natures law of physics always pulls the heavy side down first. I drop my beans in the pot. 95% of the time they land with the heavy side down the same way they land with the heavy side down in nature. Think about it this way, when you plant with the tap root facing up, it will u-turn and face down, as it makes its u-turn its also pushing the shell in all types of directions untill the tap root gets settled. I find this helps prevent stuck shells and the base of the stem comes out more sturdy this way because instead of a taproot going straight down, you have a knot (the u-turned tap root) right below the stem and it helps prevent roots ripping from transplant and low stress training ect.
Yep, I've said stop all that nonsense in my own closet and learn what a plant really needs??? "it's a seed, cover it with dirt"??? Soooo do you also say "it's a plant, just throw sum light on it??

Very good strategy!!That is basically what I was taught, but I wanted to verify it by asking the good folks on RUI.
I approach any new endeavor basically the same way...
1) first I read as much as I can
2) then I find people that have solid credentials to teach me as much as they're willing
3) then I go out & I fuck up everything like nooobys tend to do
4) then once I've got a little practice under my belt I get on forums like this to tweak what I've learned & try to improve on what i've been taught...
No, I've been very successful so far by doing it the way that I was taught, but I'm always trying to learn & this issue came up earlier in a different thread so now I'm just trying to get as much feedback from as many people as possible so that I can make an informed decision....The natural way would be on its side. Just like it sits on a table, thats is how it would lay on the ground. The planting orientation of the seed has no effect on plant health. Are you having germination problems? The only time I could see cannabis having issues germinating are bad seeds, to dry or planting to deep.

U got a really bad attitude for a person thats looking for help. Im out >>>>>Well, if it were common fucking sense, I don't think that you would have professional growers who tell you that it is BEST to plant them pointing UP! Or have articles in weed magazines that stress the importance of planting them pointing up!
But I will tell you what is common Fucking Sense... putting an apostrophe after the "I" so that it reads "I'ts common fucking sense."
If you don't have anything constructive that I can actually LEARN from then I would appreciate it if you would not waste my time by posting stupid shit like "its common fucking sense"... Thanks in advance!
My point EXACTLY! I don't have 30 yrs of growing experience to rely on so I am simply trying to learn as much as possible, as quickly as possible, but it gets difficult when so many "know it all's" chime in with there BS!i know that dr greenthumbs sends, well, at least used to, a small lil card with all of his seeds, and on the back, he tells you to plant the seed upside down, for the same reasons i'd imagine that spl noted..
So u prefer people that doesn't know shit to give u advice? What i see is that u get angry with anyone that doesn't agree with ur "putting a seed certain way technique" u need to chill bro and if u say that ur here to learn just take all the advice and discard what u dont like., don't. Flip out at people thats actually trying to help u. GLMy point EXACTLY!
