It's amazing how expensive heat sinks are. For 3 - 36"(5.886"W), its $220, shipping included.I've searched high and low. It truly seems heatsinkusa.com is the only place to get multiple profile options with custom lengths.
I found a heatsink source locally, but not sizing options really.

Where can I find aluminum framing like you've used here?

I hope you don't mind the questions as I am putting together my first build and I love your design. Feel free to weigh in on my thread here.
Simply bought from a DIY store. Not sure where you are from, but I'm from the Netherlands and they have it everywhere. Like in Praxis, Gamma, Karwei or whatever.

Do those fit CXB?
I used them on CXB3070's. I thought they were the same size as the CXA?

That's the good thing with these though. They fit a whole lot of different COBs. Just adjust the spacing and it will work. IIRC it could work for Vero's, Cree's, Samsung's etc.

Still, you need to drill 4 holes with tenths of a millimeter accuracy. In the end it wasn't so bad, but I did use a drill press.

I believe they are same size looking at mine

,

So why didn't you just go with 3590's?
Because they were a lot more expensive than the CXB3070 at the time.

Also I vaguely remember having trouble distributing them nicely over a 100x100cm surface.

I have 8 CXB3070's @1.4A in that space. of course I could use 8 CXB3590's running at 50W which would cost a lot more. Or try to figure something out with less COBs, but nothing seemed optimal.

Yeah tme.eu is a good webshop. I got my Mean Well drivers from there when no one else had them on stock.

-Remove tape and clean off arctic silver 5 from each cob (12)
-Remove old crimp quick disconnects from each pico wire connector leads (24)
-Spatula new AS5 on cobs, spread and screw into tapped holes (10)

Went from 2" hsusa profile to 4.8"
The cab is enjoying a ~10*F difference with the upgrade. Running 110 watts according to killawatt... Ten vero 10's @350ma. Laser temped the sink at 82* right next to the cobs. Pointed at a sharpie dot.

I feel like LED building is gonna be one of those staple things you just gotta learn to do if you grow. Just as staple as learning how to water correctly

Cree XPE far red ran @350 ma. So .66 watts each. In the tent I have 3 emitters and each is covering a 12"x20" space. Seems to be working just fine. The CSSH clones that were under it finished just over a week faster than the mama. Emitters are ~12" above canopy. That closeness to the canopy is probably what is making it work with so little wattage, on top of the fact that they don't need much exposure to it in the first place :D
Good luck!

I've looked everywhere on tme.com I can't find that style of heatsink. They're all round or small ones. Can you provide a link to the 1000x165x35?
