The type of music I grew up listening to was 50-60s music and metal (I love the chord progressions and scales, and I'm an energetic person so I love the speed of the music.
The type of people that I personally know who listen to "rap" (what I grew up understanding rap to be) are self centered, money hungry, greedy types of people, which goes against literally everything I know and understand. There is not much meaning in the rap that my friends and acquaintances listen to, and so I subconsciously grouped all rap into a cRAP folder in my mind.
Honestly I wasn't even gonna open some of those videos to listen just cause it was "rap" but I got bored one day and tried it. Even tho a lot of the messages don't mean anything in my life (I have had a different human experience than a lot of rappers) I SEE the message in their music , and it just makes sense to me now.
One of the only reasons I took the chance to open the music videos I've seen here on rollitup, is the people who have posted them. I know and trust YOUR words (not just you @HeatlessBBQ but everyone who has posted on this HS page. So I thought, surely these people who I have learned so much about life, tolerance, and BEINGness couldn't be telling me to listen to the same message that's in the music of, say lil Wayne, or eazy E, or...
And so I took that chance, and I feel like I've been rewarded with something more than just myself. I'm gonna post a song that I listen to over and over and... I won't post the music as it might scare some people haha, but the message that's in this song touches me when I'm tripping.
